I would add this to the top of the tourists trap. It is overpriced. We were not impressed. The museum is more of a gift shop. more

Something that is not mentioned anywhere on the website for this tourist trap is that this was stolen from the Four Corners region and transported here around 1906, and that the descendants of the entepreneurs have testified that the dwelling was found 35 miles from Manitou....I guess that made it OK, though the cliff dwellers didn't live closer than 300... more

I'm biased because I've always wanted to go see cliff dwellings, so I liked it and it was worth it. While it is definitely small, it was still worth it to me. You can go inside the dwellings and look around and realize how tiny those places are! Another bonus here is that they have the biggest and best gift... more

We arrived late in the afternoon and tour the Anasazi dwellings during a major rainstorm. Gave a unique perspective into the lives of people who lived under the cliff overhang. The dwellings are beautiful and amazing. The self-guided tour is very complete. The museum has a few well-labeled and well-explained displays, but the museum is really a gift shop. You... more

Interesting setting, but very small clif dwellings environment. The vast majority of the museum is a gift shop!! My daughter studied the Anasazi in school, so she was more involved than she might otherwise have been. Not recommended. more

I'm about as big a tourist trap visitor as they make em. Being from the East Coast, I've made many unscheduled stops at "South of the Border" on I-95 ("You never sausage a place!"). Thus, I proudly add the Manitou Cliff Dwellings Museum to my list of tourist traps. It's a nice one and well packaged, but it is a... more

I am an archaeologist and was disappointed to find out that this site was built in the early 1900s by money hungry entrepreneurs of the area. These cliff dwelling are marketed as an authentic archaeological site which is very deceiving - the Anasazi DID NOT live in Colorado Springs!!! . Nowhere at the site are people informed of the true story... more

We really wanted to go to the cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde, but our limited time in Colorado didn't allow for a trip that far across the state, so we decided to visit the Manitou Cliff Dwellings Museum since it was nearby. Though fairly small, they were still very interesting and worth spending a morning there. Our three teenagers enjoyed... more

An average recreation, neither very good or terrible, of ancient cliff dwellings. The actual recreation area is pretty small. The gift shop is a maze that is easily 4x the size of the dwellings! The most interesting aspect was the tiny room or two in the middle of the gift shop maze that they called a museum. Artifacts and articles... more

I have only good things to say about the Cliff Dwellings! I will begin: The Cliff Dwellings are original places and they make for a great educational experience. I went with a group of 6, and not one person left unsatisfied. You are allowed to climb into the cliff dwellings, and even though a bit scary, you will quickly be... more
