Description:

A family-owned and oriented guest ranch nestled high in the pristine...

A family-owned and oriented guest ranch nestled high in the pristine wilderness of the San Juan Mountains and just 35 minutes from Durango, CO. Since 1956, Lake Mancos Ranch (now re-named the Majestic Dude Ranch) has been offering our guests a home away from home in the Colorado mountains 35 miles west of Durango. A week-long, all-inclusive dude ranch vacation provides families with a lifetime of memories, whether that means long rides on a mountain trail, guided mountain bike tours, hikes in the neighboring national forest, catching a rainbow trout along the banks of a cool stream, lake or river, or just relaxing by the fire with friends.

We did it all and it was great! Riding everyday, clay shooting, archery, paint ball, white water rafting great food and fun staff and guests. Come as guests and leave as family! Our fourth time and plan for more! Many more activities that will keep you busy all day and into the evening!

INCREDIBLE scenery, endless horseback trail riding, knowledgeable and friendly wranglers, great staff, clean rooms with unbelievably comfortable Tempurpedic beds! You're given your own horse to ride for the entire week and can even have one-on-one wrangler-time to hone up on your riding skills in the arena in between trail rides, if you'd like. On the last day, you can choose... More

VERY KID FRIENDLY PLACE. The horseback riding was terrific. However, the website is definitely misleading. There was no kayaking or atv riding offered the three days I was at the ranch. The archery equipment was broken. The activities catered to children (movies under the stars, sleepover in tents/tee pees, etc.). I only learned on the last night that alcoholic beverages... More

In mid-June, 2015, our family of four (kids 7 and 10) spent 5 nights at the ranch. This was our second year with Majestic. In short, this is the perfect place for our needs and wishes. In particular, we love the size and scale - about 40-50 guests total. Small enough so that you get to know the other families,... More

There are so many people to complement and thank at this ranch - it is hard to know where to begin. But I must start with Robert, the owner. As he picked us up at the airport, we had no idea that he was the owner. He is humble, fun, funny, with endless energy. He has a very organized activity... More

Just want to give a shout out to the chefs at the ranch, Daniel, Patrick and John served us the most incredible meals during our stay on the ranch! Everything we ate was delicious!! The bbq ribs, ribeye steaks and pork chop dinners were superb! I can't forget to mention Rasha's amazing desserts! The ranch itself was such a little... More

We stayed at the Majestic Dude Ranch from August 9-16, 2014 and had the time of our lives. We are a group of 21 people, ages 6-71, and each one of us had a blast. We have been to several other dude ranches and Majestic ranks right up there with the best!! Robert is amazing and does anything possible to... More

This was our first trip to the ranch, but it won't be our last! We went on a family vacation that included ages 1 1/2 to 71 years old. Everyone had a wonderful time. Our six year old son had an amazing time riding horses, swimming, playing laser tag, jumping on the trampoline, playing baseball and having fun with all... More

The Majestic was the perfect place for us to hold our 42nd class reunion!! Robert is the main reason that the Majestic is a wonderful place to vacation. He strives to provide a fun, unique, and safe place for families to be for their vacation. Beds are comfy, meals are prepared by a chef who trained at the Culinary Institute... More

My rating is based on my experience at the ranch this last week of June. I usually stay at 4-5 star resorts and have high expectations . I don't mind spending a higher amount of money, but it better be exceptional. It is a good great away for a family that can afford approx $375.00 per person a day. My... More
