We have been here several times and have learned so much about local history of this area. Our favorite exhibit is the Day of the Dead exhibits each year. They have a very small but nice gift shop.

This museum has an excellent permanent exhibit concerning both early Longmont, and the Front Range as it particularly relates to the indigenous Arapahoes and other Plains Indians. When the settlers moved in, and after they killed and "resettled" what was left of them (ie SandCreekMassacre) this area became dedicated to agriculture and wheat, and sugar beets were the main cash... I really wanted to find out about the history of the people and economy of the area. This place is filled with information from the first people. I had no idea that there were Paleo-Native Americans. The early traders like Bent really influenced the area. The Battle of Sand Creek affected the history of Longmont area. The problem was the... More

Hi there - We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed our permanent exhibit on the history of the region. Our apologies that you found the noise from our temporary hands-on exhibit, Robots Rising, to be a bit distracting. You're right that the kids do have a great time in there, but we're so sorry to hear that the noise... More

There are several hands-on exhibits and several robot toys on display that I remembered from my childhood. I took my grandchildren - it is a little beyond the 2-year old, but the 4-year old enjoyed it.

Been to this museum several times with my grandchildren and years ago with students and just by myself. There is a lovely historical section about the area and one devoted to early astronauts as one came from our town(Vance Brand). The upper floor is well suited for children under the age of 10 and has interactive activities. The changing exhibits... More

I enjoy the Dia de los Muertos exhibit and festivities every year here. I love the sugar skull making and painting for kids, and adults! The altars for loved ones who have passed over are heartfelt, and impressive in their detail and artistry. There are many good exhibits here throughout the year.

As a new resident to Longmont, I was taken by a local family member to see an art exhibit. While the exhibit was modest, the artworks were wonderful. Moreover, the center has a detailed history of Longmont and how it came into existence as an extension of Chicago. It was fascinating and educational.

We have been there numerous times with our kids over the last several years, they have changing, interactive activities for children and our boys are always excited to visit. And as an added benefit, the Longmont Rec Center is right across the parking lot in case there is some remaining physical energy left that needs to be burned off.

The museum is architecturally beautiful and well researched and planned out. Easy to read and understand displays. All ages will enjoy their visit. A must-see when visiting historic Longmont.
