The Roxborough area is truly a statement in natural beauty in Colorado. I am from this area and it never ceases to amaze me and please my senses. I have seen many artist renditions of the red rocks and no one comes close to capturing the true beauty of this park. There is a top-notch golf course there too and... More

We live in Centennial Colorado. One of the best things about living here is the close proximity to Roxborough State Park. Every time we visit, my jaw drops because of the beauty and magnificence of this sight. To this day, I still cannot understand the geology, biology or history of this place. It is absolutely sublime yet overwhelming. It is... More

This is a great spot to go on some low elevation, less-strenuous hikes with great views of rock formations. The park is beautiful year round with a good deal of parking and a ranger/visitor/welcome center out front. Be aware you must pay to enter the park ($7 per car unless you have a State Park pass). Have the right change... More

Not to far south from downtown Denver is a great park with amazing views and geology. There are different hikes for all levels and ages. Kids will have a blast walking, running and looking for wildlife. Highly recommend visiting for splendor near the city.

When people come to visit me in Colorado, and they haven't much time but want to get that "mountain" experience, I take them to Roxborough State Park. Within 30 minutes you can go from downtown metro Denver to a magical place filled with fabulous rock formations. The main hiking trail is a level path that takes you on a one... More

This is a great place close to Denver for families ... including small children ... to hike. Lots of locals go here to get away but still be close.

This is a beautiful park that I visit all the time in regard of the seasons. I'd say that it's my favorite state park in Colorado. The views there are breathtaking and it offers great hiking opportunity of various difficulty. It's never too crowded inside but sometimes there's a long line waiting to get into the park. Parking spaces are... More

We enjoy taking our grand children to Roxborough because of the natural beauty, the fantastic rock formations, variety of wildlife, great hiking trails and the opportunities for photography. It is the kind of place we can spend lots of time and it's a lot less than going to a movie.

Went to park as part of a trip to southwest. Was at the park for around 2 hours and did the Fountain Valley Overlook, Fountain Valley Trail, and the Lyons Overlook Trail. The park was not that crowded as people can spread out in the park. The Lyons Overlook Trail is really impressive when you get to the top and... More
