Good day hikes

Great location to beat the hustle and bustle of other hikes in the Denver metro area. Great views and fairly easy hikes. Only downfall is no dogs allowed.

Nice hike with beautiful views of red rocks. Didn't see any wildlife on our hike, but I know there is wildlife there. Comfortable shoes, water and sun protection a must.

We did a short family hike here on recommendation of friends who live in Denver. It was perfect for a half day hike to see some amazing rock formations. When you get to the trial head, go towards the left for the best views. After you get to the furthest point, the return doesn't gave much in terms of views,... More

The red rock formations are exquisite! There are several hiking trails, from beginner to advanced. Watertown Canyon is nearby, and you can walk or bike up to the stroncjaStrontia Springs Reservoir, and view Big Horn sheep along the way!

Wow -- This park has me really impressed. (Granted, we haven't lived in Denver for very long.) In my mind, it's one of the best green/lush hiking areas and photo venues within 30 minutes of Denver. Here's the scoop: PROS - Rox has well-maintained and clean facilities - Lots of wildlife: we saw at least 4 deer up-close - This... More

If you live in Colorado, or if you are planning a trip to scenic Colorado and will be in the Denver metro area, be sure and check out this park. The park is close to 4,000 acres with 14 miles of trails for all levels of hikers that begin at the Visitor's Center. There is lots of wildlife in the... More

The area is beautiful with rock formations in all directions. You can do a short 2 hour hike and feel like you've gotten away from it all. Rarely is the park crowded. If it's not a weekend, you'll have the trail to yourself.

We went on the Fountain Valley hike and visited both overlooks on the way. The geology and views are reminiscent of Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, but Roxborough seems far more "real" and natural. The trails were great, and it was easy hike for us. The stone Persse house is cool as well, and the trail offers lots... More

We took our grandchildren here over spring break. It was nice because you were able to see how long each trail was before you left. It gave you and idea of how long it would take. The kids loved it and so did we.

This is a great state park with some amazing views and trails. Recommend for a great day hike. Make sure you pack for random colorado weather.
