Very informative trip up, but the trip down in the engine was a real highlight. My 8 year old said it best. "It was great." Matt (the engineer) "was really nice." Been on a lot of trains in Colorado. Can't beat the steam trains (like Durango & Silverton), but there aren't many opportunities to ride in an engine (even if... More

The ride was fine but the downside was that it was very hard to hear the conductor if she wasn't directly in our car. That was disappointing because she had some interesting facts to share.

we really enjoyed the railroad ride, but be sure and dress warm, you are going up in elevation and the temp drops. The views are really great, took lots of pictures.

The conductor was very informative with all the relevant information about the train, history and trip. Husband and I love trains. We ride as many as we can. We prefer steam trains, and this was a diesel engine. Also the train traveled up and back on the same track (backing up rather than a continuous loop) Scenery was nice but not awesome. Staff was very friendly and willing to answer questions. Enjoyed the open cars. Train... More

This was a nice relaxing fun family day. The restored trains are lovely and the views are amazing. Historic commentary was excellent.

So glad we picked this train to see the mountains from views you cannot see from your car! Neat train with open air cars and cars enclosec with lots of windows. Seats all face outward and you can walk from one of the train to the other throughout the entire ride! Train travels at a slow enough speed to enjoy... More

Great trip, bueatiful scenery, and great food. Learned about days past with mining , the railroads and even got to see the rements of the Telegraph system. The crew was excellent answering all our questions. The scenery was breath taking, with mountain tops seen as the sun was setting, the Arkansas River, Turquoise Lake, and the natural wildlife to name... More

At first the 4 of us decided to go on the afternoon train ride and see the site. While driving to our destination we look closer at the brochure and noticed that they are having a dinner ride. We decide that sounds great and we got our tickets. The ride was enjoyable and the food was good. The scenery was... More
