A picture is worth a thousand words so be sure to make a stop and take in the view. The overlook is on Rt 24 heading west out of Teller County CO., heading into Park County. It is breath taking. The rest stop offers an awesome view of the plains of Park County and gives way to a view of... More

Really nice view of the valley looking west. Nice point to stop. Another thing next to pass is South Park historical museum in Fairplay, CO (going westbound)

This high point on the way from Colorado Springs to South Park and Salida or Buena Vista gives you one of the most expansive views of the second range, which includes most of our 14,000 ft mountains. Good rest stop with always open pit toilets, a weather shelter and viewing deck, and a gift shop in summer.

Wonderful view looking out over the valley. Can get some great sunset pics. Some neat short little paths to hike on and a longer path through the valley if you are up for it.

Definitely worth the few minutes to pull off the road to take some photos. Plenty of space to safely pull off the road.

We find a lot of gems by just driving & seeing a Visitor Center & stopping. This is one of them. We're on the road from the Alamosa KOA bound for Cripple Creek. Hwy 24 in the Pike National Forest. It comes on you quick, after climbing a hill going Eastbound. We needed a bathroom break & fortunately there was... More

Wilkerson Pass marks the Eastern end of South Park. Eastbound traffic slows from 65m.p.h to 35-40m.p.h. Beautiful aspen leaves to slow down for in Fall. Many visions of hidden deer and elk are in the aspen groves. This is good hunting area with easy access. There is a visitor's center on top. It is open as staffing allows. There are... More

Views of the Sawatch Range and the Collegiate Peaks! Take time to pull over from your drive heading west or east on highway 24 and you will learn something!

I'm an outdoor person, so I love to travel to out of the way places with beautiful sights and plants.
