This was my first time to do a "trailride" instead of the cattle drive offered at the Rusty Spurr Ranch. It won't be the last one for sure!! The wrangler was very knowledgable about the flora and fauna, the mountain landscape and took great care of all of us! There wasn't a boring minute on this trip and lots of... More

My wife and I went to Rusty Spurr Ranch twice... once for a two hour trail ride and then a follow-up four hour cattle drive on the weekend. We simply can't talk enough about it. This is a review of the Trail Ride- Connie welcomed us in, helped us get ready and then unwind to hot cocoa made on a... More

I have a feeling that taking my kids riding anywhere else will pale in comparison. My two sons (10 and 12), including one with some special needs, were paired with the two perfect horses for them, and I got an "elephant" to carry me. They listened to what we needed and provided all that and more. The 2 hour trail... More

My husband and I came out for a 2-hour ride in August of 2011. Connie was our guide and she was awesome! She told us all about the land and the mountains. It was VERY obvious that they care for their horses very well. We rode Cactus and Sweet Pea and they both were very broke and fun to ride.... More

We had a great time. I was so nervous about my 7 yr old being on a horse by herself, but it was so safe and she had a ball! This wasn't a nose to butt trail ride, you were allowed to lead the horses off of the trail if you wanted. We will be back next year! More

For a city slicker (Han's wording) Brooklynite like myself this was about the coolest thing I've done in a long, long time! We came in from Vail to do the cattle driving excursion and let me tell you it was great! Well worth the trip! More

So, I just wanted to write a quick review, saying how awesome this ranch is! I came to Colorado, wanted to do a trail ride that isn't the typical nose to tail, slow going ride. Our guide, James, gave us an awesome experience, where we were able to spread out, trot/canter a bit, and just experience the trail to the... More

My family of four booked a two hour trail ride. Our guide Maddie was wonderful. Neither my wife nor our 9 year old had ever ridden a horse. Our son was very reluctant to go after he got on and even asked me several times while mounted and waiting for the others in our group if he could just stay... More

My husband and I went for a 2 hour trail ride at the Rusty Spurr Ranch. We drove from Breckenridge and it took about an hour and 15 minutes. It was my husband's first time on a horse and the staff took the time to put him at ease. We enjoyed it because it's not your typical nose to tail... More

The Rusty Spurr is a true gem. As a working ranch, they know the value of their horses, who are all well cared for. The wranglers are knowledgeable, friendly, and easygoing. My partner had never ridden a horse before; I have ridden since I was 9, although I haven't ridden much in the last 20 yrs -- both of us... More
