Looking for a place where you can be a part of a community, not just a place to ski?!?! Looking for a place where you can ski in October AND in June, possibly even July!?! Looking for a place where skiing in funny costumes, shorts and swim suits is not only OK, but encouraged?! Looking for a place where you... More

It is up high, with amazing views overlooking the continental divide. A locals ski area with no phony mountain amenities; just great terrain, good snow, and friendly folks. It always has the earliest (October) and latest (sometimes Fourth of July) skiing. Must do runs - Pallavicini for bumps, Upper East Wall chutes for adrenaline junkies, and the new Montezuma bowl... For many years we had a vacation home in Silverthorne and during the winter months we would take turns visiting different ski areas for a cup of coffee and a sticky bum. We loved Arapahoe as it was usually the last one to close and we could sit outside. When we had guests that were skiers we mostly recommended Arapaho.... More

What a great national forest. Arapahoe is rife with wildlife during the summer. We are already planning another trip.

Abasin has very good skiing and a small club atmosphere. The lifties get to know you after a few runs. The runs are of good length and are varied. The lifts need upgrading but there is a new high speed lift coming. Breakfast at the chalet is fresh and reasonable cost.

Gotta love the legend! A Basin is a beast. Tired of dealing with the masses at Breck or Keystone? Head up the road a few miles and escape. Zuma on the backside has it all. Steeps, trees, bumps, double blacks, blacks, blues. Love it!

This place never stops amazing me. Every time I ski here the mountain is just a little different. Get used to the altitude first. Being from Denver will not help you at 13,050 feet. My god the view is amazing!!!!

With several feet of new snow blanketing this last of the old school ski resorts I couldn't resist the urge to slap on my skins and earn some turns. The mountain was all mine, and for a few days i was the king of the hill. My legs hate me, but my soul is refreshed. Thank you mother nature for... More

On May 3 A Basin still had great snow (and more has arrived since with this weeks storm). Skiing was really good and slopes not busy, but the "beach" was crowded with folks having fun in the sunshine. Ski rental is very reasonable and quick = and the place will be open at least till mid June.
