We like the offbeat stop, and this one takes the cake. About the same as our last stop here many years ago, but not open this time (bummer!). Cost is $2 per person or $5 per car- pay in the box if they're not open. We did take the opportunity of no one else there to snap some aerial views... More

While in Alamosa we decided to get off the beaten path, so I printed out a list of odd attractions to see in Colorado. We pulled in to this watchtower and had to laugh. There was no one to take our money but my husband left it in the box anyway. The shop was closed so we just walked around... More

We went out here on the way to another near by attraction. The lady who runs it is very nice and has a lot of information to share. We walked around the vortex areas and we swear you could feel it. My husband is skeptical and he felt something. Than we walked around the out fields. It was interesting to... More

We just weren't satisfied enough by stopping at the meteor crater in Arizona, especially since that was like throwing $15 into the crater just to walk to the edge. So we made sure to stop at the Watchtower, and what fun THAT was. It's more like a spread out shrine to UFOs where visitors can linger awhile, leave bits and... More

My sister and I drove up to the watchtower which appeared to be closed. However, before we could park, the owner drove us and warmly greeted us. We had a really pleasant visit with Judy and she explained the garden and opened up the small shop. She allowed us to stay as long as we wanted to enjoy the sunset... More

We decided to stop here since we had driven by it on previous trips and wondered about it. We were the only ones there, and the woman who runs it was very friendly and informative. She put a lot of time and energy into opening and running the site. I don't really believe in aliens or UFOs, but it was... More

My family of sci-fi fans had big fun exploring this little alien themed folk art garden and climbing the observation platform. The "museum" was closed as the proprietor was in town for a dentist appointment according to the sign on the door. We just put $5 in the honor system admission box. Adjacent campground was surprisingly well-maintained but no apparent... More

The UFO watchtower is basically a viewing platform stuck out in the middle of a desert plain. It is surrounded by a 'garden' which is a pile of vaguely UFO-themed junk, with a few stuffed aliens and plastic UFOs. But - there is something insanely funny about how awful it is - and we enjoyed taking photos - and it... More

Not really sure what to say except - keep driving past it. Not worth the time or the effort. But apparently building an actual tower wasn't either.

We were visiting the Gater Farm, which is very close by and decided to pop in and see the UFO watchtower. I found it very quirky and interesting, and we got lots of funny photo's of us posing with various 'alien's! It was also interesting to look through the folders in the shop which have details of people's UFO 'encounter's.... More
