Well a buddy of mine ended up getting some free lift tickets to this place and prior to that I was skiing at sunlight Mountain Resort, well let me just say I found my new favorite place the skiing was unbelievable so many great trails and no lift lines! There is so much to do there and ski trails for... More

Of the small resorts down on the Western Slope, Powderhorn takes the prize. Nice lodge, plenty of parking, no lift lines, awesome sausage-whatevers grilled on the deck at lunchtime, nice bar, spectacular views. But, oh, you went there to ski: Lots of great terrain for everybody - nursery slops, epic aspen glades, tailored corduroy, something new every day. Wrap up... More

I've been skiing at Telluride for the past 8 years, but I haven't missed it at all this winter while skiing at Powderhorn. NOT ONCE ACTUALLY! There's so much to love about this place. The lift tickets are totally reasonable. There's plenty of variety from beginner to expert, groomed, ungroomed, trees, moguls.... The lifts are a little slow, but that... More

Powderhorn is the perfect place for beginners and first timers. The staff makes you feel comfortable and helps you as much as they can. The snow is incredible. The ski patrol is always alert and ready to help. The prices are way below the big resorts. The views and landscape is absolutely amazing, specially if you stay in Grand Junction... More

Went skiing with my two sons, I haven't been in approx. 18 years. Paid $174 for two lift tickets and equipment rental. It snowed about 14 inches while we were there, very good powder. Uncrowded slopes and lift lines on 12/24/12. I haven't been on a lift for awhile, but I read where they were slow. A little slower was... More

This "resort" has three ski lifts. One for the bunny hill, one which takes at least a half hour to reach the top and the third has two off ramps-one mid hill and the other which allows access to blue runs. There are just two restaurants, one at the day lodge which quits serving just as the runs are closing,... More

Powderhorn is a great (if a bit smaller then the mega-resorts in Colorado) place to relax and enjoy a nice day on the slopes. I have many good memories of going up on the weekends to ski here with my friends (I opted for the Student pass). The only downside is the lifts run a bit slow. Also, it gets... More
