You'd think "Colorado National Monument" would involve an informative plaque and a visitor center. We had the one, but not the other. (It's only a "monument" because it was signed into being by a sitting president, rather than created by an act of Congress.) I was on a bus tour of the canyonlands (10 monuments and parks in ten days),... More

I have visited all but two of our national parks and most of the national monuments, but somehow had missed this. After finally seeing it yesterday, I will be back when I have more time to explore. The sandstone formations here rival Capitol Reef. The vistas from the top of the mesa are fabulous. There is a lot of interesting... More

The place was nearly empty and a treat to drive the 26 mile rim road. More

Colorado National Monument is an under recognized and under utilized treasure. I love Fruita Colorado. It is way cooler than the Jersey Shore or Utah....Moab. Take your road or mountain bike to Colorado National Monument and enjoy the scenery. This is an epic place to bike or just to cruise in your car. More

You would not know it even exists until you start driving up the road about a mile and then, it is like "Oh, my gosh." You can go the whole way (about 23 miles) or half-way but go, at least, to the Coke Ovens. There is a short, fun trail there, fairly flat except the first part with the steps... More

The drive was simple and easy. Great for a family of all ages. Plenty of spots to take pictures. Hard to take a bad picture it seems. Excellent display of nature. More

The entry fees are good for seven days, if I remember correctly. We only spent a few hours there, but the views were just amazing. If you are not use to the high altitude take your time on the must do hikes (take water). If you don't have someone who is familiar with the monument you must stop by the... More

It's right in my back yard!!! Lucky me....I get to wake up each morning and look out my window and see it and go for a walk and get a better look and if we want to dive through it, it takes only 10 minutes to get there, More
