The museum is active on-going experience. It has real fossils and some replications. Due to its location near active on-going "digs" visitors can sign up for a half-day to a 5 day week experience of working with paleontologists on site and perhaps actually find a fossil. It is fun and takes as long as you wish to view. The show... More

Lots of dinosaurs to see, exhibits that move, an earthquake machine, animated dinosaurs that spit and roar. Educational short movie my 5 year old granddaughter really liked.

When my son was 3 - 8 we would come once a year. It was one of his favorite places. It is fairly small so now that he is 9 and has been there several times he doesn't get excited about it much as they don't change much around. But I recommed for sure for the smaller children. They also... More

Just before you cross over from Colorado into Utah, you will want to stop in Fruita and witness first hand the Dinosaurs discovered in this very area. This Museum is very child friendly, but don't let that fool you! There is something for EVERYONE at the Dinosaur Discovery Museum. Automated dinosaurs, simulated earthquakes, and actual paleontologists at work (in a... More

I'd read so many reviews that said this was 'just for kids'. But adults can learn, too. We thought they did a great job with their plaques and exhibits. They certainly have no shortage of fun things for kids to do, too.

I would rate this higher for small children. It is a fun place for the dinosaur lover in the family. It would be boring for anyone over 10.

We took our 5 year old granddaughter here and she had a wonderful time. It is very interactive for the kids and the parents have a lot of interesting things to see and read. You can watch the staff working on the bones recovered.

Children in this age group are excited about Dinosaurs. The actual bones are on display as well. Lots of interactive activities for the children to explore. Staff is conversant in sites nearby where bones have been discovered. Very close to Dinosaur Hill and The Colorado National Monument.
