Great Hike in the Morning... see the sunrise.

We made a day of this and Buffalo Bill's Grave. I will likely do this hike again within a few weeks because the weather is so beautiful this time of year.

Thanks for your visit to Lookout Mountain Nature Center. We agree that bundling a trip to our nature center and Buffalo Bill's Grave and Museum makes for a wonderful day. We've had quite a bit of snow fall in the last few days, so you'll probably want to give it a few days before getting out on those trails again.... More

Great view of Denver and surrounding mountains, plus a nature center with knowledgable staff teaching about local wildlife and geology. The building is made of recycled materials and is an interesting study in sustainable design. Inside, there are several model landscapes with preserved animals in their natural setting. You can see the 2 table mountains (plateaus) and the Coors Brewery... More

We drove up to lookout mountain just to kill some time. The views were amazing, though we didn't even get out of the car. I guess we aren't real interested in naturistic views, but it would be a great attraction for a nature lover!

A beautiful sunny day after a snowfall - we ventured up the mountain and entered the Center. He young man on duty was very knowledgeable and we had a long interesting discussion with him about many different topics regarding the area, the animals, etc. Start here and get the lay of the land before you venture out in the area.... Thanks for visiting our nature center. We have to agree that we make for a good "jumping off" point for visitors and community members. We hope you were able to see some of our remote wildlife camera photos that have captured numerous animals on film at our nature preserve! Thanks for visiting and please stop back again when you're back... More

When you plan on a trip to lookout mountain do not skip the nature center !! First of all , a nice spacious parking lot to base your trip from. Then use the clean restrooms and take in the beauty of this log cabin. Ask about the wood how the building was constructed, ask about the art on the walls,... More

Along with a nice nature center with very nice staff, across the street is a lookout not too many people will go to. This gives some nice views also, along with Lookout Mountain. It is some walking, but not bad at all.

Thank you for visiting our nature center. You did find one of our hidden gems with that lookout, although we can't take all of the credit. You actually found Colorow Point Park, a Denver Mountain Park, that is situated right across from our parking lot. It does have excellent views, but no facilities. We agree the hike is worth it... Hiking on lookout mountain is fun and brings you to some awesome views, but the nature center is pretty basic and small. It looks nice and has clean restrooms, along with trail maps, but it wasn't anything special. For kids, they had a little play room that might keep the kids entertained for about 20-30 min.

Thanks for visiting Lookout Mountain and our Nature Center/Preserve. We're glad to hear that you've been able to take advantage of the great weather that we've been experiencing lately! We hope your kids enjoyed the discovery room and sat in the birds nest with egg pillows. Kids can also observe and enjoy nature in the observation room with panoramic views.... More

The Nature Center is a great little side trip great for families. The Nature center is small but well run and has easy and small hiking trails on the grounds. Across the street from the main gate has a great vista with mountain views and great sunsets.

We were disappointed on two points, but that was not the Center's fault. No pets are allowed on the trails and the center's hours didn't match up with our so we couldn't go inside. We'll return on another trip and plan ahead.
