We did this last October and again this July with the entire family. It is a really great 40-mile loop which gives you a very good appreciation for mountains and great views of the plains. Stop at Dinosaur Ridge off C470 and be amazed at dinosaur tracks in shale that are 150 million years old, pushed up from sea levels... More

The course map was easy to follow, but watch out for hairpin turns and bikers. You'll need a vehicle and about 3 to 4 hours to complete the entire course. Less time is required if you don't stop at each attraction, but then why go. The course takes you on back roads and highways to get from point to point.... More

, We took the Byway from the top of Lookout Mountain to the Discovery Center at Dinosaur Ridge, Rte 93. There are several lovely small towns along the way including multiple hiking trails and fishing streams. We spotted a couple mule deer at one pull-off. We also visited the Red Rocks Amphitheatre along the way.

Awesome mountain views and windy roads. Lots of bicycles but worth the trip. Takes about an hour or so if you don't stop but there are plenty of small towns and sites along the way.

before you start, get a good map of this loop from the visitors center in Golden. The actual road is not very well marked and some of the signs are small or in hard to see locations. But you get to see some really nice views and maybe Buffalo Bills Buffalos. Each town that it goes thru has some areas... More

If you live near Denver, you need to make a point to drive this loop! If you live nearby and you have a motorcycle or convertible and you haven't cruised this loop, well you've been missing out! I lived on this drive, actually, and I have gone back on it again just for the fabulous views. To think that it's... More

This tour is great for anyone who has interest in geological formations and dinosaurs. Who doesn't love to learn about rocks and dinosaurs. My children loved it. I have a 16 year old and a 12 year old. We also had a 11 year old traveling with us. I sent pictures back to my husband and he shared with all... More

We did the drive in short time, not much for hiking with 18 mo with us.. We started in Golden, went up to Buffalo Bills grave, then wrapped up at Red Rocks.. Be wary of cyclists near Golden, some of them really cruise on the way down.. Buffalo Bills does have restrooms, gift shop, and food items as well.. There... More
