trains!

awesome museum. The train layout in the basement has a lot of innuendos in the layout. They are fun to find.

This is a place for families. Old fashioned trains. They have a toy railroad and toy trains outside! Easy to spend a half day, so you should combine with other place together.

We are train lovers, and while I commend the volunteers for their efforts, this was the most disappointing place I have visited. Over-priced, too. The so-called train ride--extra--was a joke: a few times around the loop seeing mostly old rail cars. Compared to places like the magnificent train museum in Strasburg, PA, this "attraction" was absolutely unattractive.

This is a great museum with many life-size trains to experience. Some you can walk inside of like a red velvet dining car! There is a shop to purchase train items. They give tours. Always something special going on during many of the holidays during the year.

The good news is that we were free to wander around and look at the trains. The bad news is that there was no one around to answer questions and the signage was inadequate. There were few cars that we could go into. The model train layout in the basement was very elaborate. This might be more fun, and more... More

My girls LOVE trains- so I thought the railroad museum would be perfect! It was a huge bummer! It was dirty, old, dated, and very few trains were open to walk on. Also the ground was so uneven and unsafe! I was worries about their safety the whole time. Don't waste your money! Go on a free day!

Stopped by while in the area. The museum is small, but housed in an old train station. The model train yard downstairs was the best part of the museum. Lots of rail cars outside, but for most of them there is no access without a guide. Not bad if you like trains.

They maintain a nice museum, with model trains and some interactive displays. Outside, they have a couple of bigger model railroads that are fun to watch The museum has a lot of trains and cars on the lot, but most of them provide no access. You can look, but you can't go in. A great deal could be done to... More

My 3 year old loved the basement area, the train table and life size train to play in. Also down there is a model train that runs on coins. The outside area is nice, you're able to go in trains but watch the little ones bc it can be dangerous-sharp corners, big drops etc. we did encounter a friendly fellow... More

Thank you for visiting the Colorado Railroad Museum and for leaving a review. I will share your feedback with our staff for consideration. I will mention that while the Museum doesn't offer train rides everyday (charters are available), we do operate train rides every Saturday throughout the year. Additionally, admission is cheaper on non-operating days. For a schedule of upcoming... More

Quite a few engines and cars, but no Docents/guides or audio tours. Lots of cars locked and had to peer through windows. The steps up to trains were steep and could pose a problem for some people. The HO scale room was fun! For a Quarter you could make a model train go around the huge track, through tunnels and... More
