Loved H O set up in basement. Lots of trains on grounds, not a time to go in the rain, pretty muddy, roundhouse was not very easy to view. Good for a small local train museum.

This place is a change for young mothers to take their babies in strollers, Grandparents to point to what once was, and Dads and Kids to crawl all over antique machinery and get pleasantly dirty. Birthday parties in Cabooses are available, and train rides are held each Saturday (not included with Admission) with live steam power once a month. There... More

Want a quick tour with some history of the CO railroad? This is a nice little museum to visit with your family. It's not flashy or state of the art but you can learn about and tour lots of different trains. It's perfect for families with children as the museum is mostly outdoors and therefore the kids can be loud... More

This is an interesting museum of various railroad trains and railroad history here in Colorado. You can enter some of the trains and view the many controls that are used as well as see large heavy steel wheels at the ground level. They also have a steam train that you can ride around in the nearby area. The gift shop... More

While in Denver for only one day, I found time for a quick visit to the CRM's Gift Shop. Lots of merchandise on hand, a few sizes of T-shirts not available, but in all a good selection. Got what I wanted, a couple of t-shirts and "Railroad track" suspenders. Will be back for a longer visit.

This is an excellant hands on museum. There are even rides available on "the galloping goose". Lots of history and very good exhibits. You can even go inside some of the more unusual cars. I especially liked the mail car and the kitchen.

My family is full of rail fans, so naturally we gravitated towards the Colorado RR Museum. It is full of interesting old engines and cars from various eras. On some weekends, you are even able to take a short trip on the Galloping Goose! The inside displays are wonderful - check out the HO layout in the basement. Our favorite... More

I've taken my daughter, Addy, several times to this museum. The last time I took her she was 10, so she was just about too old to get the full enjoyment out of it. Boys may enjoy it more as they are older. It's very affordable and there are many activities and interesting engineering artifacts and antiques. I enjoyed the... More

Very interesting exhibits. Many of the trains silently testified to the history of the railroad and the role they played in its development. The train ride around the museum was also fun, interesting and entertaining. It gave you different views of the museum. Seeing the roundhouse and how it was used was informative. Seeing the miniature steam engines operated by... More

We visited on a Saturday, and got to ride the train around the grounds. The train club was there running the model trains. Many volunteers were cleaning up and working hard. There were lots of rare train cars that were quite interesting. This is a great place to take kids.
