I love old trains and this is the place to see a wide selection. They have lots of old and older cars, locomotives and even some operations. Be sure and see the model train layout downstairs. I go every couple of years for a "refresher."

My friend and I took a group of kiddos here, ages ranging from toddlers to five. A good time was had by all, including us grown ups. Good picnic spots, lots of things to climb on for the kids... A great place to let them explore and burn up some energy. Check out the model town in the basement of... More

Took my grandson there on a guys outing. He loved the place. There are several vintage pieces to "climb aboard", a huge HO layout in the basement (check schedule for operation times) and a larger outdoor layout ( N scale, I think) that happened to be attended by club enthusiasts during our visit! Also in the basement area was a... More

We stopped by the Colorado Railroad Museum expecting an exciting day of learning about trains, railroads and history. We were quite disappointed. There is so much potential with this museum but seems to be no direction in their exhibits. There was no real guidance on how to negotiate this place with so much to see. We were instructed to just... More

I went there with my family during the summer and it was fascinating. There were many different trains and train models. I loved it!

I took my dad, husband, and son to this museum in Dec. 2015. They loved walking around and checking out all the different trains. You can climb on and in some of the trains, which was great for my 5 year old and they have a gorgeous little model train area set up outside. Unfortunately it wasn't running in the... More

My friends and I went to the museum on a cold Monday afternoon. One of the features was to look in the roundhouse, but the door was locked. When we were back at the ticket counter we let them know it was locked and they said someone would open it in 5 min. After 15 min. I called them from... More

My two children and I came from Florida to have this experience and it was well worth. The Conductor and Chef were amazing performers and we really felt that we were riding the Pol Ex ! I highly recommend the 1st Class tickets, there were well worth the $100 each for the extra special attention the kids received and getting... More

I can only say that when the snow started to fall as we went to board the Polar Express it could not have been any better scripted. This was a truly magical experience for my grandsons and believe once more as an older man in the magic of Christmas.

Where else can you ride the Galloping Goose? The outdoor museum has a lot of railroad stock to look at, volunteers to answer questions, and the Galloping Goose for a quick ride around the property. A pleasant way to spend part of an afternoon.
