Good collection of rolling stock

Nice collection of rolling stock. There is a garden railway as well. The roundhouse has been remodeled and you can see some stock being worked on.

Lots of interesting trains in an outdoor setting, as well as a few activities for the kids and a large model railroad layout in the basement. There is also a working restoration area with a viewing room that was interesting!

A friend and I toured this two years ago and it was great fun, despite the quite cool, damp weather. The rain held off while we were there, so we were able to walk the grounds to see everything. The grounds feature engines, cars, etc. Some are open to walk through, others have yet to be restored. And we even... More

It was a pretty good experience. There were a lot of very unique and cool trains at the museum. However, some of the attractions were closed, so that was a little disappointing. You can also find some good deals on the following website: http://www.denver.org/listings/Colorado-Railroad-Museum/3763/

We had some time to kill before our evening flight out of Denver, so we tried the Railroad Museum, as it was only a short distance off Interstate 70. And I like trains. The exhibits are roughly split between indoors and outdoors. Being largely a collection of railroad equipment, most of the items are outdoors. They were doing some construction... More

While spending the day around Golden my 2 year old had fallen asleep from all the fun we had already had for the day. He hadn't quite got his nap done and was fussy when I woke him up. So I drove to the Railroad Museum for him and sure glad I did. As soon as we pulled in the... More

Nice museum but grounds on small side for most train museums. Nice indoor exhibits and large HO exhibit in basement of museum. Not many train cars or engines in yard and only a couple you can actually go into. Probably better for railroad history buffs. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice but probably would not go there again.

This place is located outdoors and is filled with old trains. Some are still in great shape, some not so good. Some you can wander through and have a seat and others you just can see from the outside. It was a fun way to spend a few hours.

I added the CRM to our Denver vacation itinerary because of our six year old son's love of trains. My husband and I were surprised at how much we loved it too. The museum grounds have so many trains from yesteryear that you're inherently transported back in time. And everyone who works there is super friendly and accommodating. We were... More
