This place has lots of trains to look at. You can't get on most of them and there is a lot blocked off right now but when everything is open this is a very fun place. My 2 little boys love trains and will spend hours just looking at them. We come 2 or 3 times a month!

The Railroad Museum is an interactive museum with lots of static displays of trains. Two steam locomotives are on display and there is a short route around the property in which guests can ride an antique rail car pulled by one of the locomotives. Fun stop for the kids to see trains up close, from steam engines to diesel. The... More

I visited on a quiet weekday, so I understand that some things may not have been running, and as a previous volunteer at tourist railway I know it can be tough to keep things up to peoples expectations. But for the $10 entry price this place could be better. The model train layout is nicely done and with enough spectators... More

Took our kids to the railroad museum and in general we had a good time. There are several dozen train engines and cars on the lot, and a small interior space that includes a model railroad. The big problem is that it is not well laid out in a manner that is informative (you walk from one train to another... More

For people with kids from 2 to 6 and the kids are into trains, this would be ok. This is my second visit back and a few of the trains you could get on during my first visit are closed off. The lay out is haphazard and some attention by management to actual paths and what is an open exhibit... More

This is an awesome place to visit. I have two daughters and a son under the age of 10 and all three of them absolutely loved it. Unfortunately the rain ran us out but we were still able to see quite a bit and ride the steam engine... The highlight for my son. This is a must see for anyone... More

We have two train crazy boys and were very excited to bring them, but it was a huge letdown. The outdoor trains didn't have any info signs and you couldn't go inside, but 3-4 of them. What is the point of having all those cool trains and not be able to see inside. Even if you couldn't go inside, build... More

I have been to other railroad museums and this bay far is a joke! My first clue should of been when we pulled up in the car, I thought it has to be better then this! There is a station that you get your tickets and there is a model railroad down stairs not bad except you have to pay... More

Who doesn't like old trains? Engines, passenger cars, cabooses. It is a dream come true. If you like trains, you will enjoy visiting here. Ongoing repair and restoration on site as well.

Purchased a Groupon for the museum while my hubby and I took a couples trip to Golden. My hubby is a RR enthusiast and enjoyed all the jewels they had on the property. Would recommend.
