I have been to several train museums in the past. This was not my first. I have to say that I had a great time. There is lots of stuff to look at and do. It was not the biggest I have seen or the largest selection of trains, but it was fun and defintely worth making the trip to... More

If you enjoy RRs and old RR equipment then do not miss this! Would like to be there when the Goose is running. Most interesting part: the models of the steam engines, 3985, 844, and the Big Boy! Fascinating!

We went to the lovely little town of Golden for the Coors Brewery tour, but it wasn't on that day! Went to tourist info office to see what else there was and spotted the leaflet for the railroad museum. From the town we could hear a distant train whistle so knew this was a place we had to see. From... More

Who doesn't love trains? You don't have to be Sheldon Cooper to enjoy the really unique train cars and engines like the Galloping Goose. You can look into the workshop where restoration is continuous. Model trains, round house. . . and everyone working/volunteering there is so knowledgeable. Seasonal attractions and visits by Thomas make it fun for the kiddoes.

Loved all the real trains and the model trains. Good history too for people interested in the details. Pretty grounds too.

Beautiful, if you are into trains its the place to visit. Best well kept secret by the locals. Amazing place to explore, ride & learn about trains.

We love trains, so we loved this outdoor museum! From the Coors refer to the Galloping Goose this is a history of trains, and the history of Colorado...both are intertwined. Nice model railways both inside and out too. The roundhouse is cool, especially if you see them using the hand propelled round table. And, it's real close the Coors Brewery,... More

My father is a huge train fan, but I must my kids and I enjoyed it just as much. My kids were excited to look inside as many of the trains as possible to understand the train system at that time. The layout that they have in the downstairs of the building is amazing.

Steam locomotives are always impressive, but the Galloping Goose is an unusual part of railroad history. Expect to spend an hour or two walking around the property, looking at their exhibits. For model railroaders, there is a large layout on the site
