I've taken my daughter, Addy, several times to this museum. The last time I took her she was 10, so she was just about too old to get the full enjoyment out of it. Boys may enjoy it more as they are older. It's very affordable and there are many activities and interesting engineering artifacts and antiques. I enjoyed the... More

Very interesting exhibits. Many of the trains silently testified to the history of the railroad and the role they played in its development. The train ride around the museum was also fun, interesting and entertaining. It gave you different views of the museum. Seeing the roundhouse and how it was used was informative. Seeing the miniature steam engines operated by... More

We visited on a Saturday, and got to ride the train around the grounds. The train club was there running the model trains. Many volunteers were cleaning up and working hard. There were lots of rare train cars that were quite interesting. This is a great place to take kids.

I took our 3 year old grandson, who picked this over the Children's Museum and the zoo. He loved ringing the bells on the old steam engines and climbing up and down and in and out of the cars that were open. Very nice staff, the 3 gentlemen eating lunch in the roundhouse even interrupted their break to wave at... More

My family visited recently after several days of snow, so the weather may well have impacted our visit. That said, we were somewhat disappointed. While there are many engines and cars scattered throughout the yard, you can only board maybe half-a-dozen of them. The indoor portion of the museum is quite small. I would say that the guys doing restoration... More

The snow has been melting so the grounds were very muddy, but other than that it was very good. We came in the free open day, not sure how much it normally cost but it was great for a free day out.

Whether it is trains, western history or just museums, this is the place to vist. Small enough to easily navigate but with a large collection, it is a train lovers must see.

The museum has several trains that can be explored, occasionally they fire up a train to take rides around the park, too. There is a model train in the basement of the main building to check out along with historical pictures and information. You can buy the kids little presents from the gift shop.

so much to do and see. The old railroads are fascinating and the places they ran often unbelievable. You can't believe where they put railroads without modern equipment.
