My nephew and I just finished skiing Arapahoe Basin on March 20, 2014 in the AM then driving down to Golden for lunch at Fossil Trace's Three excellent Tomatoes restaurant. Then we enjoyed a super fun round of golf on this Jim Engh-designed course. I've played the course about 12 times now and have thoroughly enjoyed it every time. Check... More

One of the most beautiful courses in the state. Not for the faint of heart or for those who hit from the rough but worth the money.

We used to live in the adjacent area and knew this course was to be built. We play tons of golf and golf courses guide where we travel. Whether a traveller or a local, this is a very well run and fair value course that is spectacular in places and most importantly is fun for all but the rank beginner.

Ok, so I'm not a golfer and we didn't get to play here but we stopped for a while and really enjoyed the views and atmosphere of the place. The course looks very tight and difficult. On 12 you can view some of the fossils from triceratops trail. You can actually see the palm fossil that inspired their logo.

I thought the conditions at the course were excellent. The course really requires tight accuracy, which I didn't have this past weekend. The rough was a little thick for my liking, but all in all a good round. There was some construction going on a a Detention Center right next to it. That kind of took away from the scenery,... More

This is a great course to play if you are in the Denver area. The way the course was designed around the natural features makes it a course to remember. Take a minute to look at the fossil exhibit after hole 12. The course was in great shape and the staff was very nice.

This was an incredible course. If you haven't played it, then you need to make it a priority. It was in great shape and the views were breathtaking. We are mid handicap golfers, we found it fair and yet challenging and the staff was great!

At first I was put off by price of the greens fee but my playing partner talked me into it. This course is absolutely beautiful ! A couple of fairways weren't in the greatest condition but I (we) visited at the end of May. Overall, a GREAT golf experience.

I probably went into this course with my expectations to high. I am a big fan of Jim Engh courses. Four Mile Ranch in Canyon City is one of my favorite courses...period. I had consistently heard how great Fossil Trace is and so I went expecting to be wowed. I have to say that I was not impressed. While it... More
