Unexpected find. We were just up killing time when we drove up. The only issue was that the trails took you right into a landslide field of huge stones that were impassible with young children

Wife and I visited during our 17 day road trip that covered 4 States and 2,700 miles. Best part of this visit was seeing the grave of Buffalo Bill and visiting the museum dedicated to him.

Be sure to stop on the pullover sections on the way up. We didn't because I was waiting for the "ooh & aah" factor at the top...it wasn't the one I was looking for. It is beautiful at the top in the typical nature kind of way, it is a Nature Center after all. But there was nowhere to look... More

What a beautiful ride. Bikers coming from both ways made it a bit dicey while driving. The road is tight and they are working hard to get up and down this mountain. Watch out. Once you get there, it affords lovely views of Golden and Denver as well as the beautiful mountain range. Check it out.

Nice site sighting, scenic hiking trails and Buffalo Bill Museum. The views of Denver and Golden at dawn are quite fantastic.

We hiked the lookout mountain trail, starting from the top. It was a great hike, and the view was definitely worth it. I think it is easy enough for beginners, but the path does narrow a few times.

Close location to the city, this place offers beautiful views of the mountains, valleys, Golden and Denver (far out). Quiet and a nice place to visit. The drive up and back down was beautiful and fun to do. We saw a few deer on the way down. Overall great views!

Beautiful view of the Denver, Golden, valley area to the east and mountains to the west. The Nature Center near the top is very nice and informative place to visit. (Also has nice bathrooms and play area for kids.) If the Boettcher Mansion is open (adjacent to the Nature Center and no fee), definitely visit. Has great historical background. Hiking,... More
