A nice spot for families to take a break from their touring. Picnic tables and short, easy trails, and nice views to the east of the metro area. Share the road with the bicyclists - popular ride for them.

Great drive up there and views. I did not have a chance to do the hike but after seeing the views, it's in my to do list now!

It was an interesting ride up to the top of Lookout Mountain. It was interesting to see the bikers riding up to the summit. It was more interesting seeing how fast they ride down. We could not believe we could see snow on the distant Rockies. We also visited Buffalo Bills grave. A great view of Golden anf the Coors... More

Lookout Mountain's strong appeal for out-of-town visitors is that is like a national park view that is just a couple of miles from the bustling I-70 and big suburban malls, but brings you to a completely different climate with the feel (and reality) of a peaceful mountaintop. The drive from the 5,400 feet plains to the 7,377-foot (2,249 m) peak... More

The drive up to the top is long as you have to go slow and avoid bikers. We passed at least 50 bikers, if not more. We took the tour of the museum which was nice. The view is great!

The drive up the mountain was worth the time. At the top we parked and walked up to Buffalo Bills grave site. Wonder how he choose that site. Beautiful scenery.

I wanted my photo taken beside William Cody's gravesite; it was a gorgeous day on top of Lookout Mountain and I'll always remember the feeling of being up there - peaceful and beautiful. Easy to get to and find - no hiking involved. A short trip from downtown Golden.

We drove as high as we could, parked and walked one of the trails. Amazed at all the cyclist who rode to the top as well. The views are just breathtaking and so many flowers to see. The trails are easy to navigate, not scary or anything.

I was a bit nervous a the start of the drive up the mountain! Very narrow, winding road with steep drop offs! But about half way up, I got a little bit more comfortable. There are plenty off pull-off points to enjoy the incredible views of Golden, downtown Denver and the surrounding mountains. Breathtaking!

Wonderful views on the drive up and worth doing a picnic at the top. Great spot to see the snow-capped mountains, snap some gorgeous photos and get some fresh air. We stopped at the Lookout Mountain Nature Center and Preserve, and right across the road is a stunning lookout point. Looks like there are a few hikes, such Chimney Gulch... More
