Made this an early morning drive ,waiting for the RR museum to open. Rewarded with beautiful views of the plains and two herd of mule deer.

Look out mountain road has great mountain vistas. Also is location of Buffalo Bill's Museum, Mother Cabrini Shrine, Lookout Mountain Nature Center and is part of the Lariat Loop National Scenic Byway. Well worth it if you like a good side road in the mountains with great views.

The area was lovely to view from the car. We were sad but understood that dogs were not allowed on the trails.

We drove up from Golden on a beautiful October afternoon. Upon arriving at the property we took some time at the visitor center, and then wandered over to the original property and explored. It is a beautiful piece of property.

While many people choose to bike to the top of the mountain, we decided to drive. The views of the rockies at the top are breathtaking. You also get great views of Golden and Denver. Definitely add this to your list of things to do.

Views are stunning specially at night. Night views of the city are amazing. Beautiful place to appreciate nature during the day or city lights at night.

Wanted to drive up to Mt. Evans but it was closed for the season already. Then wanted to do the OMG Rd but it's advised for 4wheel drive only. So then we found out about Lookout Mountain so we did the Lariat Loop drive - a 40 mile scenic drive between Golden, Morrison & Evergreen. We started out from Golden... More

Started a two week trip through the west by visiting here. Very well preserved and the views were spectacular! The museum gave us information that we didn´t know from Buffalo Bill and his show and set our vacation up perfectly.

What no one tells you and you drive and drive in circles...Look for the nature center, park there, then cross the street...that is the picture perfect spot you are looking for! The nature center lodge was an amazing eco friendly structure with lots of educational information and great guides. I loved to watch the night cameras and the wildlife they... More
