The 1.2 miles felt like 5 miles hike. It has snow on the way in April and it was a hard hike, However at the end of the hike you will find beauty and peace. It was very calm and just few people.
The water is so clean. Too bad not many people follow the rules. The trail's sign says...

Don't let the "Difficult" rating scare you away from a spectacluar hike and view. It's about 1.25 miles to the lake and worth every step. It took us about 2 hours to get to the top with plenty little stops along the way. The scenery getting there is also beautiful with a running creek and some waterfalls along the way....

What a hike. It is tough but worth it. Wear quality hiking shoes or boots as it is steep and rocky. The lake at top is sweet.
Take water and take your time. Get alot of pictures. Unfortunately you can't take your dog with you - mine would have loved it. Lake is so clear you can see the bottom. Be sure to check out to the waterfall up close.
Challenging, yet rewarding hike. The summit is one of the most amazing sights I've seen. Absolutely worth the climb. Wear good shoes (saw several struggling in flip flops), this is not a flat stroll down a path. And, bring water. My favorite hike so far.
the trail is very well maintained but natural obsticles are present some boulder feilds and step incline are all present. there was snow and ice on the trail in april close to the top but well worth the hike. the lake is so amazing and the view is awesome.

If you know what to expect and are prepared for the conditions, it is a beautiful hike -and seeing the lake at the top is well worth the effort....
But right now,...

Our 2 1/2 year old walked part of the beginning, but we decided to carry him in a backpack carrier for the icy/more steep parts. It was a beautiful trip...

This was a very strenuous, physical hike. I loved it ... being 40+ years old, it pushed me to my personal limits. Would recommend excellent shoes and be ready for a good workout!
