Worth It

This steep trail is worth the hard work. The lake at the top is spectacular. We came here on our honeymoon and we will never forget it!

We did this hike in september 2013, but we still talk about how beautiful it was and how happy we were we did this. It's a steep climb, but if you're a bit used to hiking, you shouldn't have any problems. It's absolutely worth it!

This is one of the most steepest hike I have ever taken but well worth it. Be sure to bring a hiking pole with you it would be helpful. The view is stunning once you reach the top and worth it. The only thing I did not like was the idiots crossing out the middle of lake to take pictures... More

Am always amazed at the beauty of this hike . It's not a real difficult hike , about an hour up in the winter and another 45 minutes to an hour down . But come prepared with proper boots , poles etc . We used yak traks and poles and happy we did ! Very beautiful and worth the hike... More

This trail is extremely popular in the summer, but less traveled in the winter. It's a steep and difficult climb in the winter - make sure to use snowshoes or YakTrax for grip on the steep, sometimes icy incline -- but it is SO worth it! The vision of an upside-down forest of crystal blue icicles beneath the water cascade... More

Whew! Hiked Hanging lake when younger, not so hard then! A lot of stops to rest- grandkids asking "ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE IT GRAMMA?" I did, it is a great trail with benches. Last part is stairs, steep and a lot. View is amazing! Too much fun to go behind waterfall and get wet with kids. Another further up,... More

This is a lovely trail that follows Dead Horse Creek for most of its 1 mile length. It's fairly steep but only a mile so can be done with elementary-aged children. There is a short area near the top of the trail that is somewhat exposed so you'd want to hang on to the young ones at that point. Take... More

First, I give it a low rating because I never actually got there. If you don't go super early in the morning it fills up and you cannot go. We drove three hours and got there by 9am... Lot full! I have family that have been there and sometimes couldn't get in as well. They say its beautiful but apparently... More

Went in May which was quieter than the summer months, and still to busy for me. There's a reason I like smaller mountain towns and it's the lack of herds of people. Though it's a great hike physically, not worth the traffic and you can see pics online.

Only made it half way up. Wife was waiting in car for me and I told her I would be back in about a hour and half. Realized about half way up that It was going to take me at least that much time to get up there so I turned around so she wouldn't get worried. Very neat trail... More
