this was a great stop on the way to aspen. it was our first day in CO and was a good hike to acclimate yourself with the altitude. The hike was challenging but not too difficult, make sure to Bring water and snacks. It took us about 3 hours but was stopped at the top for a while. The lake... More

This is a short but in some areas semi-steep hike but well worth stopping and heading on up. Bring water for those that aren't use to hiking a trail like this and bring a camera. We went up in the afternoon and were the only ones on the trail up and back to the car.

Beautiful hike with running water along side the trail the whole way up. The trail is a little steep at ties with lots of steps but it only 1.2 miles to the top. Beautiful lake! Well worth the trip!

We got an early start at 8:00 Saturday morning. Practically no one on the trail yet. Started out cold and warmed up quickly. The hike was a challenge but well worth it. The views were amazing! Definitely got crowded as we made our way back down.

We went in the Fall so there were not many people. It's a very nice hike of moderate difficulty (should not be a problem for anyone in decent shape). The lake is beautiful. This is definitely a worth while hike if you are in the area.

Wow amazing one of the most beautiful places I have seen, if you have not done this hike do it! But do it early in the morning to avoid crowds.

I'd driven past the sign on the interstate a zillion times but always off to somewhere else. We were staying in Vail for a weekend getaway and decided to make the 50mile drive to check it out. The hike is steep! You're climbing the side of the canyon. The reward is fantastic. Spouting rock, where a waterfall literally shoots out... More

It's hard if you aren't active, but it's moderate if you are in shape. We visited in the fall, early in the morning and saw very few people. It's certainly not as lush as it is in the summer, but the clear blue water and the stone walls surrounding the little lake were beautiful. We saw fish, birds and no... More

The hike was steep for my 6 year old, but even she thought it was quite worth it. This was a lake with the beauty of a tropical paradise in the middle of the Rockies. I highly recommend this trail. It's very shaded, so in the Fall we were a little cool, but this would be great for summer to... More

Challenging hike, but worth every second of it! The views were amazing when you reached the top. Took about an hour to get up, but we were hiking at a good pace. A must see if in the area!
