This is such a great hike. You follow he stream, its beautiful and shady and you end up at a magical lake on top of a mountain. It has been years since I did this trail and it has apparently become VERY popular. We got there around noon on a Friday. Parking lot was completely full. We had to stalk... More

This is a relatively short, energetic hike up to the Hanging Lake. You should wear comfortable, sturdy shoes and be prepared to be in awe when you get to the lake! The view is spectacular!

parking was tough- must get there early and the hike is not easy but well worth it. Also has a trail along the Colorado if you are not up to climbing.

The trail is steep and rocky. So what? The lake at the end is so beautiful that I forgot my aching feet, and I just wanted to stay there forever.

Distance is about a mile but the uphill climb and downhill descend makes it seem longer. Liked:hiking along a cool creek , often in shade when the temperature rises . Disliked: lots of hikers, some lack respect for others. Must go up to Spouting Rock before heading down, well worth it.

The lake itself is spectacular and the hike up and back nearly as much so! Beautiful waterfalls and streams along the route!

This place is very popular on the weekends during the tourist season but it is a great little hike to go on. The hike doesn't take very long (about 2-3 hours) and there is plenty of space when you reach the lake to rest a bit and have some food. The hike is very low impact overall and is very... More

One of my favorite places! Have been there twice and would do that hike again and again. Great trail, beautifull little lake with crystal clear water. Take a proper shoes and water. ;)

Other recent reviews have covered it well. My only, plain spoken, comment is to leave your toddlers at home! I would even say leave most kids under 8 at home. We hiked with our athletic 9 and 12 year old boys, and our 9 year old was tired at the end. I saw countless parents carrying young kids on the... More
