Beautiful hike up and remarkable beauty at the top. It is a challenging rocky trail. Highly recommend, but don't go on a holiday as they limit access by closing the parking lot. One couple tried to go 2 days over labor day without success and then left the hotel at 7:30 on the 3rd day to try again. I don't... More

I'm a hiker but i can safely say the hike up to Hanging Lake was one of the most beautiful hiking experiences I've had. We were fortunate to have an absolutely gorgeous day during early September; the hike up was somewhat strenuous & rocky but certainly more than worth it. Once we arrived at the top, we experienced one of... More

really takes away the experience when there are 500 other people on the trail. The terrain is also pretty difficult

This was a great, but exhausting hike. Have wanted to do it for years. Just wish I'd done it twenty years and fifty pounds ago. The view at the top was amazing. And spouting rock was well worth the extra trek. We got to the park at 8:30 and had to take the first overflow parking spot. When we left... More

We hiked Hanging Lake Trail in early July. The stream which you cross numerous times enroute to the lake and "sprouting rock" was running high during to heavy snowfall this past winter. Step in sections the trail is navigable for all ages. The views at the lake are stunning and worth every step of the climb. Do the extra 15... More

We went on this hike on a Saturday morning. We were told to get there as early as possible, and we were glad we did. Around 8:00 the parking lot was filling up fast, but we got a good spot. The hike was difficult going up as there were lots of rocks, steep terrain, and other people to look out... More

I loved this hike! It is tough, I have knee issues that made it pretty challenging. Once you get to the top it is so beautiful! It is such a unique ecosystem. The water color is gorgeous! Make sure you go above to sprouting rock. Also, the earlier the better - the trail can get super crowded!

Visited hanging lake on August 28, a Thursday. The weather/rain clouds foiled my original plan to hike in the morning. We kept an eye on the forecast & skies and headed out there in the afternoon after the rain had cleared out. The parking lot was probably about 65% full at that time. There's a nice rest room with running... More

Tough trail up but worth it when you get to the lake & Spouting rock! I would bring a walking stick. Leave your dog at home as they are not allowed.

Hiking up the rocky canyon and finally seeing the lake after hiking uphill for about 1.5hrs is phenomenal, but you need to be fit, wear solid hiking boots, carry enough water and some food. Locals will tell you that there's a very small car park for only 20 cars, but that's not true. The car park can hold about 100... More
