Visited Hanging Lake in early November and it was the most memorable hike of my trip to Glenwood Springs. I somehow managed to be the only hiker on the trail early in the morning. I started around 8:30am. The hike isn't too strenuous... although, I did see a few folks huffin' and puffin'. Make sure to bring plenty of water!... More

I love the view here, it is a bit of a climb for the average hiker. However, it is heavy foot traffic and I don't prefer to hike where everyone else is.

Hanging Lake is off I-70 about, if you are going west towards Glenwood Springs. This climb is strenuous and takes about an hour and a half, depending how many people are coming up or going down the path. The climb is well worth the trip. The lake is iterally "hanging" on the side of the mountain and the water is... More

We went in October during the week. The trail was not crowded when we arrived around 8:30 am. It was a more difficult trail, although short. Not a groomed path all the way up. It is steep and rocky. Make sure to have sturdy shoes. Truly amazing views all the way up. Make sure to visit Spouting Rock at the... More

This is a short but in some areas semi-steep hike but well worth stopping and heading on up. Bring water for those that aren't use to hiking a trail like this and bring a camera. We went up in the afternoon and were the only ones on the trail up and back to the car.

Beautiful hike with running water along side the trail the whole way up. The trail is a little steep at ties with lots of steps but it only 1.2 miles to the top. Beautiful lake! Well worth the trip!

We got an early start at 8:00 Saturday morning. Practically no one on the trail yet. Started out cold and warmed up quickly. The hike was a challenge but well worth it. The views were amazing! Definitely got crowded as we made our way back down.

We went in the Fall so there were not many people. It's a very nice hike of moderate difficulty (should not be a problem for anyone in decent shape). The lake is beautiful. This is definitely a worth while hike if you are in the area.
