The hike is not 1.2 miles, it is difficult, but it's also strewn about with small pools, waterfalls and scenery. It had pleasant friendly people on the trail, the lake itself is gorgeous, and very pretty, you cannot stand on the large log that straddles the lake anymore. There is a small extra bit of hiking at the top to... More

This is a bit of a difficult climb up but holy buckets is it worth it! BEST part of our week honeymoon in Colorado! Be prepared to sweat & be a little sore if you're not an avid hiker! Totally worth it!

Hanging Lake Trail is a moderate, at times, difficult climb. The scenery though is outstanding. Loved the creek with the water running over the rocks. You do want to be in fairly good health to do this hike. Loved the challenge!

It was a beautiful the hike and especially when we reached the top. Well worth it! The hike was a little hard on my 10 year old, but we would do it again just to see the crystal clear water and the beautiful view.

Amazing hike, one of my favorites of all time. Arrived Thursday, August 27th at 9:45am. Found a parking spot immediately, which was surprising after reading other reviews. Hike up took about 1.5 hours. Going down about 45 minutes. Definitely a workout, but well worth the trek. This could be one of the most beautiful places on earth. Loved it!

This is a very popular and challenging hike up 1,000 feet, one mile, to a thoroughly beautiful spot. If it were not for all the people it would have gotten highest marks

Beautiful hike, though a little tough on the knees if that matters to you. Definitely worth it when you get to the top.

We went on a Saturday around 4pm (as we tried to get there earlier but the car park was full). The bonus with going at that time was that it wasn't as hot as the original 12pm hike we planned. I did read reviews beforehand and i knew it was going to be strenuous. The uphill was probably 50 minutes... More

Absolutely stunning. Definitely hit up the spouting rock while you're up there too. Warning: the hike is a little difficult. It's like walking up a staircase for an hour or more. When you add on the altitude effect of Colorado, it might take you longer than you think. Leave plenty of time (at least 3 hours) for the full activity.... More

Absolutely breath taking! Bring a lot of water to be able to complete the hike and very comfortable shoes. It is a little hard but definitely worth it
