The trail is difficult and ascends over 1000 feet to a beautiful and unique setting. You arrive at a crystal clear blue green lake with a lovely waterfall. Begin your hike early so you will have time to sit and enjoy the lake. The trail is too rocky to get caught on after dark.

This trail is a bit of a workout but who remembers that when you reach the top. The views coming and going are second to none. The Hanging Lake at the top is some of the best 'eye-candy' I have ever seen. My wife and I made the round trip in about 4 hours...drinking and resting every 15 minutes or... More

This trail is a beast, it is very steep and rocky. If you are not used to hiking, take your time and bring plenty of water. However, it is a beautiful hike and even more beautiful and breathtaking once you reach hanging lake. It is difficult and crowded with other climbers but it is worth doing once!

Our family did this hike in July 2014. We had ages 1 year olds to a 60 year old. Be sure you have good hiking shoes and water. The hike is a little over a mile, but it does take some time because it's a pretty incline. If you have a hear condition or breathing issues, take your time. It's... More

This is an amazing hike in the Glenwood Canyon. At the beginning of the hike they notify that the trail is difficult and it is. However, if you take on the trail the rewards at the end are picturesque. There are seven bridges over the creek that leads down from Hanging Lake. This creek add a sound of serenity while... More

From what I had read, I had high expectations of this trail. I was not disappointed! Based on the advice of others, we switched our trail day from Sunday to Monday. I am so glad, because it would not have been nearly as fun if the trail were crowded. The trail crosses back and forth over a stream with a... More

A stunningly beautiful lake at the top (worth the difficult climb). So there are two big downsides to this hike: -It is difficult, as it is one of the more consistently steep hikes you will find. So while the length is only a bit over a mile, it is much more tiring than that. The terrain is uneven, and is... More

It's work, a lot of up for 1.2 miles, and it can be crowded, but a great sight when you reach the top. The lake is crystal clear, beautiful. Go a little farther to "spouting rock", only 5 minutes farther up & worth the additional effort.
