It is a pretty steep mile or so up to hanging lake, but it is worth it 100%. The water is beautiful!! If you are a trusting person, ask someone to take a picture of you while you are out on the log. Remember to take a "selfie" out there too! ;) Stay and take in the views, don't rush... More

This is a good, free hike that ends in a pristine view from a clear water lake overlooking a beautiful, Colorado Valley. The hike, however, is not for the faint of heart. On a trail built by the CCC way back during the Great Depression, visitors walk 1.2 miles up the side of a mountain to one of God's wonders... More

It's a great but steep hike to this lake, and worth the effort anytime. We did it once in the early spring when the ice was still in the lake. It was a beautiful site, but the trail was treacherous at the top.

This pool is amazing, a true example of beauty now if tourists would obey the no fishing and no swimming signs

My wife and I hiked the lake in the fall season. We were almost by ourselves! No dogs allowed, so plan on leaving the pooch home. Bring water and a snack to enjoy throughout the many rest spots. Watch a little video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSChGTzLcFY

Fairly steep but well maintained trail, a little over a mile but lots of places to stop and rest. Beautiful lake and falls at the top. Be sure to go on up to Spouting Rock, it isn't much further. Can be crowded in the summer and parking is limited.

The trail is not easy. Take your time. Begin early in the day. But the hike is more than worth it. The views are beautiful and you have to see the beauty of the lake and waterfalls to appreciate it.

Excellent very challengling hike. In 1mile you hike up 2000 ft. You need really good hiking shoes. The lake is spectacular as are the views. As you near the top, there are railings because it is so steep. You need to be fairly athletic. It takes about an hour. It is very crowded in summer....fall is a good time to... More

Several friends recommended we make the trek to Hanging Lake. It was a fantastic trip with spectacular vistas. Be ready for a little challenging sections of trail, but be ready to be rewarded for your effort. Make sure you go the extra distance to Gushing Rock.
