We took our time walking up, pausing for pictures and rest. I was fine in good sandals too. Bring water! It was great to see the water and don't forget to go above to see Spouting Rock. No swimming, as it is a delicate ecosystem up there!

but well worth in in the end. The climb can be a little difficult in areas, particularily at the top but once your up there... wow what a spot!! Make sure you wear decent shoes, sneakers, hiking shoes/boots, etc. with good treads. Rocks can be wet in places based on the weather and with the amount of traffic many are... More

we knew to go "early or late" to avoid the crowd and get a parking space. We got there at 6:30 pm (in mid August) and easily got a parking spot. We did the climb as fast as possible to avoid darkness - very challenging; narrow, winding, rocky. We were tired but thrilled with the sights when we got to... More

Quite a hike!! My family and my mother did the hike, barely. It's not easy by any means. Take plenty of water and snacks. We had a 5 year old up to a 67 year old, so numerous breaks were needed. Need to start before 10 am if you don't want to have to circle the lot looking for a... More

After the hike up, you soon realize that the challenging hike was well worth it. The water is clear and the picture opportunities are endless.

This trail leads to one of the most pristine mountain Lakes In Colorado. Locate off I-70 in Glenwood canyon, the parking lot fills up early so,get there before sunrise. At the top you will see the lake and it is full of rainbow trout the size of your arm. You cannot fish this lake, so don't try. Take you camera... More

We arrived at Hanging Lake at about 9:30 a.m. on a Saturday. We have done this hike before and knew how beautiful is was, so we were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, there is not ample parking and directions to other parking (if there is any) are bad. We exited and entered twice before we gave up. Something really... More

Heard great things about the hike to the hanging lake so we decided to go as a family. Make sure you have hiking boots or good tennis shoes because you are climbing over rocks and dirt trails. It is very strenuous and there are no bathroom spots or places to refill water bottles. It took us 1 hour and 20... More

This hike is not too difficult if you are in good shape, even though the posted sign calls it "treacherous." Wear good shoes and take a walking stick if you need help. Took us over an hour, but we stopped a lot. There are many good rocks to sit on by the stream along the way. It is inside a... More

Short but steep hike. Very much worth it. Can be dangerous in the winter months but not as crowded as summer months. Beware the parking lot fills up fast in the summer and you can't park on the street so get there early.
