Sunlight features 67 named trails covering over 470 acres. In addition to miles of cruising intermediate terrain, Sunlight's East Ridge has one of the steeper runs in the state. Aptly named, The Heathen falls beneath your feet at a breathtaking 52 degrees. Sunlight is home to one of the longest trails in ski country, Ute, a beginner slope that winds more than 2 miles from summit to base. Sunlight also hosts some of the best tree skiing in Colorado with many aspen groves untracked days after snowfall. All trails converge at the base lodge, so friends and family can always keep track of each other

Just love this small town feel resort. Reminds me of the Highlands before it got developed and enjoy living in this small mountain town community I call home. Its the best for the money you could ever expect.

Perfect low-key resort. Staff is beyond friendly, not too crowded...even during holidays. Great skiing for families, especially beginners. Would choose Glenwood over Aspen any day. Also went snow mobiling - ridiculously awesome time. Can't say enough good things about the people.

This was my first time snowmobiling. From the wonderful experience, with our guide Ty at Sunlight Mountain, it has made it to the top of my favorite things to do when visiting Glenwood Springs! Ty was an awesome instructor and did a great job as a tour guide taking us to some spectacular lookout points. I highly recommend the longer... More

Pros: -Uncrowded, even on weekends -Folks (both staff and customers) are generally friendlier in small resorts -Good value on lift tickets compared to larger resorts -Sun King is a really interesting intermediate ski run, with plenty of pitch changes and dips -Family friendly, with little chance of getting lost from each other Cons: -Ski lifts are old-school and slow (but... A private lesson at Snowmass costs over 500 dollars... At Sunlight, around 150. I highly doubt there is a great difference in knowledge. The mountain is small, but the lift tickets are 45 bucks and the runs are worth far more than that in my opinion. Small cafe, but pack a lunch if you want to save even more. Only... More

Sunlight Mountain is near Glenwood Springs, Co. It is a great little local skii park operated by the county. This was my teen aged sons first attempt at snow boarding, and my first time skiing in many years. The 2 hour snow boarding class and all day lift ticket was a great value $95 (included rental, helmet $10 more). My... More

My husband and I signed up for the Adventure snowmobiling trip though Sunlight Mtn. Ty and Steve were our guides and they were super helpful and most importantly---fun. You can tell they love what they do AND they love helping others experience it through their eyes. Usually on these types of excursions the guides love what they do but it... More

We skied here for 2 days and the the time of our lives! I have done plenty of skiing on the east coast and this was my first taste of Colorado skiing. The resort was all that we expected and more. The staff was great, especially in the rental department, those guys were a class act! They were so helpful.... More

My daughter's family joined us for Spring break and none of them had skied before. Our oldest grandson (6 yrs old) spent 3 days in ski school at Sunlight. The teaching was excellent. Each afternoon he joined his parents to show what he had learned. By the end of their trip, he was skiing with the family, and had become... More

Outstanding beginner area. Parking close to lifts, cafeteria, ticket office and rental office. I would recommend this resort near Glenwood Springs, CO , especially for a family of new skiers. Save $$$ over a stay at Aspen area. Easy drive to Glenwood Springs to enjoy hot springs
