Sunlight features 67 named trails covering over 470 acres. In addition to miles of cruising intermediate terrain, Sunlight's East Ridge has one of the steeper runs in the state. Aptly named, The Heathen falls beneath your feet at a breathtaking 52 degrees. Sunlight is home to one of the longest trails in ski country, Ute, a beginner slope that winds more than 2 miles from summit to base. Sunlight also hosts some of the best tree skiing in Colorado with many aspen groves untracked days after snowfall. All trails converge at the base lodge, so friends and family can always keep track of each other

A private lesson at Snowmass costs over 500 dollars... At Sunlight, around 150. I highly doubt there is a great difference in knowledge. The mountain is small, but the lift tickets are 45 bucks and the runs are worth far more than that in my opinion. Small cafe, but pack a lunch if you want to save even more. Only... More

Sunlight Mountain is near Glenwood Springs, Co. It is a great little local skii park operated by the county. This was my teen aged sons first attempt at snow boarding, and my first time skiing in many years. The 2 hour snow boarding class and all day lift ticket was a great value $95 (included rental, helmet $10 more). My... More

My husband and I signed up for the Adventure snowmobiling trip though Sunlight Mtn. Ty and Steve were our guides and they were super helpful and most importantly---fun. You can tell they love what they do AND they love helping others experience it through their eyes. Usually on these types of excursions the guides love what they do but it... More

We skied here for 2 days and the the time of our lives! I have done plenty of skiing on the east coast and this was my first taste of Colorado skiing. The resort was all that we expected and more. The staff was great, especially in the rental department, those guys were a class act! They were so helpful.... More

My daughter's family joined us for Spring break and none of them had skied before. Our oldest grandson (6 yrs old) spent 3 days in ski school at Sunlight. The teaching was excellent. Each afternoon he joined his parents to show what he had learned. By the end of their trip, he was skiing with the family, and had become... More

Outstanding beginner area. Parking close to lifts, cafeteria, ticket office and rental office. I would recommend this resort near Glenwood Springs, CO , especially for a family of new skiers. Save $$$ over a stay at Aspen area. Easy drive to Glenwood Springs to enjoy hot springs

Sunlight is a great place to spend a couple of days skiing with the most friendly, helpful people anywhere! The staff there is awesome. Zero attitude and it seems that their number one goal is to make their guests happy, have them tell their friends, and come back for more. My friends all had some level of instruction at Sunlight-... Very worth the break from skiing and the drive from snowmass. Snowmobiling in fresh powder on March 4, 2015. We took the Adventure Ride with Ty and AJ with our family of 8. It was definitely worth the drive from Snowmass. Visiting from out of state, we enjoyed the ride through the trails of the White River National Forest seeing... More

We have never skied until visiting Sunlight. My daughter (13), My son (11), and myself had lessons. My daughter had Taylor and he did a great job. She was skiing down the green runs the first day. Larry taught me. My son is physically disabled and in a wheelchair. Joe Sims was incredibly helpful in coordinating adaptive equipment to enable... More

Like other reviewers have said, Sunlight is a great ski resort for family and first time skiers. It's just right for kids learning how to ski. You can't find more reasonable prices anywhere else in CO that I know of. We wanted our 6 year old daughter to learn how to ski, as she had never skied before. So, the... More
