Sunlight Resort is a very nice area, not as well known as some of the bigger resorts, but it offers good ski-ing at a reasonable price. It is fairly accessible, being about a 15-20 minute drive off the interstate at Glenwood Springs. There are only three old, 2 or 3 person chairlifts, but they are rarely crowded and cover a... more

Sunlight Mountain is our favorite "hidden treasure" skiing destination two years in a row. Mountain is located 30 min drive from Glenwood Springs and is loved by the locals. Sunlight never has a lift line longer than 4 people. The powder is fantastic, difficulty level for everyone, the friendliest staff of all the Colorado resorts, and a non-competitive, very family oriented atmosphere.
