Some nice views and a decent hike to a waterfall. Nice that there are several options for loop hikes.

You can see Horsetooth Mountain from most anywhere in Ft. Collins, so we definitely wanted to climb this mountain. Be sure and get a trail map and take water and a few snacks with you. Trails were great and we were rewarded with many awesome vistas!

Fort Collins is so lucky to have this open space so close to town. It is fun to hike in every season, and you can be as adventurous as you wish on the degree of difficulty.

The entrance to the park is somewhat difficult to find if you've never been here before, worth previewing with Google Street View. We went on a beautiful fall Sunday morning and the parking area filled up quickly. The park is a short drive from Fort Collins and is clearly and deservedly popular. We hiked to Horsetooth Falls and then completed... More

Driving into Ft. Collins from the east, on E. Mulberry, you can see a rounded mountain top on the west skyline, with 2 vertical cracks in it. Old timers said it looked like the lower teeth of a horse, thus the name Horsetooth.

Horsetooth Reservoir provides breath taking scenery and a beautiful plea to hike or have a picnic. Picnic areas provide parking, tables (some have covered pavilions) and restrooms. Each area has room for about 10 cars so you still feel the wide open spaces. Great place to have morning coffee!

We were traveling through Colorado trying to see the sights and explore for the first time. This put us in Fort Collins for 2 nights. We like to hike but had already done Pikes Peak and had RMNP planned the next day so we needed to take it easy. This place was fantastic! It's a 6 mile long reservoir and... More

The hike was great! Enjoyed the scenery while hiking. Plenty of room on the trails for walking and the bikers. Rest rooms were clean too. They keep the park really clean also. I didn't see any trash along the trails. We also camped out here back in 2009 and the site was great too. We had our site on the... More

The only dislike is a required permit, even if its a quick visit. Otherwise, you must see the views on a clear day. There are no words.
