We were traveling through Colorado trying to see the sights and explore for the first time. This put us in Fort Collins for 2 nights. We like to hike but had already done Pikes Peak and had RMNP planned the next day so we needed to take it easy. This place was fantastic! It's a 6 mile long reservoir and... More

The hike was great! Enjoyed the scenery while hiking. Plenty of room on the trails for walking and the bikers. Rest rooms were clean too. They keep the park really clean also. I didn't see any trash along the trails. We also camped out here back in 2009 and the site was great too. We had our site on the... More

The only dislike is a required permit, even if its a quick visit. Otherwise, you must see the views on a clear day. There are no words.

We took our kids and dog up past Spring Creek Park to the base of Horsetooth Resevoir. There's an easy little trail with a lake on the other side. You can't swim in it but our dog sure loved it.

This is a beautiful area to visit with great scenery and several trails to follow. Trails are well marked and our four year old grandson had no problem keeping up.

$6 gets you parking at the base of Horsetooth park, just west on Cty Rd 38e from Horsetooth Reservoir. It's a delightful 30-45 minute hike up to the top of the odd rock formation where the views are spectacular. You can take the "people" trail which is narrow and winds around some beautiful scenery, or you can take the "horse"... More

Horsetooth is close so I can be in the mountains without a long drive. It's beautiful. It has water for activities and swimming, it has hiking, picnicking, and the atmosphere is relaxed and always enjoyable.

We only went for a couple of hours drive, stopping at various points around it. You could spend a lot of time here, especially if you have a tendency for water sports (if you own your own equipment)! Good for all the family.

I joined my Daughter-in-law and two young Grandchildren on this easy to moderate hike. It is only about 1-1/2 miles to the top and is steeper towards the end of the trail. I was amazed water was still flowing off the waterfall in August. There is an upper pool and a lower pool. Try to extend your climb to the... More
