Wonderful place to enjoy the outdoors

Horsetooth has a variety of offerings. There are multiple hiking trails, campgrounds and boating with a great marina. The views from there are stunning.

I have hiked Horsetooth Mountain a number of times and each experience has been marvelous. The hike is not a piece of cake, but it is not a killer either. The views of the reservoir and city below are gorgeous. I have hiked in the spring, summer, and autumn and loved each experience. We have seen deer on the mountain. Countless... More

We've hiked up to Horsetooth Falls at least half a dozen times, most recently in February with snow on the ground. In the spring, its a nice hike for wildflowers, almost as good as Well Gulch in Lory State Park. In the summer, the views out to the plains are pretty and it is a colorful hike in the fall.... More

When we have out of town guests, we always take them to Horsetooth Reservoir. From the car there are breathtaking views, that make people want to get out of the car to take it all in. My husband and I have kayaked from the north and south ends. There's always a lot to explore on the banks. A couple cautions:... More

There is camping with an RV or a tent, there are kayaks and paddleboards to be rented in the summer; lots of trails for hiking on or jogging or mountain biking; picnic and swim areas for... More

Horsetooth has a lot of opportunities for family fun. Swimming for the kids, boating and fishing for the family, windsurfing, scuba diving, water skiing, picnicking in a 6.5 mile reservoir. It is open year round but I would only suggest winter for the hearty at soul. Contact Information: Mailing Address: Horsetooth Reservoir 4200 West C.R. 38E Fort Collins CO 80526... More

We sea kayak on the reservoir all the time. Put in on the south side and paddle the seven miles to the moth take out. Several boat ramps make for easy access. Avoid weekends, except for the early morning, because of boat traffic. Possible to boat here all year long even in the snow. Regular park entrance fee applied but... More

We had just arrived in Fort Collins and wanted to see some sights and driving through here was just beautiful! Not far from our hotel off of Harmony and just fun to see the beautiful Horsetooth Reservoir and even spotted animals! Very nice drive to see when in FOCO

Nice view of the town. A lot of dears on the road. Peaceful. It gets wind up high so bring a jacket.
