The parking lot hold only about 25 cars. If you are not a Colorado resident there is fee of 6 dollars last time I was there in 2014. Once you know to head up and away from the crowds you can find a handful of trails that will take you about four hours roundtrip with a few moderately steep climbs... More

We camp here and the views and hiking trails are awesome. Most trails are dog friendly. Wildlife and bird watching is abundant.

Great place for a hike and awesome view of the city. Worth checking out if you are visiting. Usually pretty busy, it's very popular with locals. I usually try to go on weekdays. Make sure you go all the way up to the top, and do the last little rock scramble to get views of the city and the Rockies... More

Great area to go hiking. Some trails are paved and some are dirt. There is some elevation (steep grades) involved so wear good shoes. Many different trails around the reservoir. It takes about 2 hours, at an easy pace, to get up to the top of Horsetooth rock.

I had to leave town, but wanted to take in some scenery before I left. I drove up to Rotary park, and just sat... The view west over the lake and into the mountains was beautiful. And then you can turn east and see Fort Collins and the plains beyond below you. I spent about 30 minutes just sitting and... More

Beautiful area. Ponderosa pines gorgeously litter the area. Can see both east and west quite a distance from the top of Horsetooth Rock. About 2 miles hike. Pretty steep in some areas, but manageable for most.

What a wonderfully beautiful hike. Horsetooth is a rare hiking experience. The mountsin range revealing devils backbone, the view overlooking the valley, and the walk along narrow yet easily marked trails makes for a delightful walk in nature. Close to both FoCo and Loveland, Horsetooth is a convenient get-a-way. Yet far enough from the pace of work and the city... More

This is a beautiful area with lots to see. It is like no other place I have been. There are lots of walking/hiking trails around a beautiful reservoir.

Myself and a friend hiked to the big Whitewashed 'A' Near Horsetooth Reservoir above the CSU stadium so she could show me all of her home town. There were beautiful views from all around and it wasn't even too much of a hike.

Beautiful open space preserve. Close to town. Bathrooms and parking not all open as it's seasonal. You can drive around the area, but very few amenities. Bring your own picnic and drinks.
