Stopped here because you can easily exhaust sites to see in this part of Colorado, especially in the winter with young kids. It's so fun that this guy put this place together and just lets people walk around. His creations are whimsical and really amazing. I just wish he had a gift shop! Any who, when you go, since you... We visited the Swetsville Zoo on a recent trip to Fort Collins. It was an amazing place and Free!!! They do accept donations, which we gladly gave after viewing this awesome collection. Our only disappointment was that the river that the Swetsville Zoo sits by had flooded, so we were unable to see half the collection. I highly recommend going... More

Bill Swets has created his zoo from old machinery, farm equipment, car parts and unrecognizable metal objects. He is quite creative and his creations are fun to photograph.

I loved visiting the Swetsville zoo! So many metal creatures and sculptures that you could walk around for a while and not see anything. Great with kids, so many things to see, not to mention it's free! It is a great way to spend a warm day, and it is never crowded. I haven't been there since the flood, but... More

We went here several years ago and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Tthe metal welded creatures and modes of transportation must be seen to be believed. I was told by a resident of Ft. Collins that the acreage was sold to Costco and plans for a move are unknown--so go while you can--it will all be gone before too long.

This place is off the chart for "funkiness." Located right off Interstate 25, this "zoo" is filled with comic creatures made from odd metal parts. Donations are encouraged, and you will want to leave one. Don't miss it!!!

The imagination and creativity and FUN of the statues is simply amazing. Your eyes will light up every time you catch a new view, see a new creature. Seeing it for the first time with visitors is a delight. Free, but donations appreciated. The city is encroaching on what used to be a rural property, so please enjoy this gem... More

I've never seen statues that were made using machinery before! The path that runs throughout the property is inundated with strange creatures. Some not so strange like the two fishermen on the riverbank fishing. One caught one! The admission price is whatever you want to put into the little steel man! With that kind of honesty and trust I always... More
