We were camping in Mancos State Park, which didn't have running water so when our kids needed to be cleaned up, we took them to this rec center to play in the pool and take showers! Our kids are 10, 8 and 5 and there was something for all of them at this pool -- slides, lazy river, play for... More

This place has a wonderful water slide and children's area for swimming, as well as diving boards and lap swimming. Provided hours of entertainment for my 6 year old. Nice locker facilities too.

My family and I visited while on vacation. My children are 6 and 9. We intermingled our touristy adventures with two trips to the rec center. The exterior is very well maintained with a nice playscape. The interior of the building is clean and inviting. The price for an entire family is a little expensive at about $20 for the... More

We've found that a lot of towns in Colorado have pretty good community centers; we've been told it's because that's where the lottery money goes. Well, Durango's community center does not disappoint. It has a pretty good pool, a fitness center, and even a climbing wall. The climbing wall hours are limited, so check before you go. One entrance fee... More

Went there with my kids while on vacation. The climbing wall was great. Our pool experience was not. My kids literally jumped into the pool once before some loud and overly aggressive lifeguard blew his whistle and yelled for all kids to get out of the pool for an adult swim. I am fine with the concept of an adult... More

We went for a swim meet and was thoroughly impressed. Building is recent, pool is very nice and great for little kids. Excellent climbing wall. Easy in town location and a good rainy day option. I would have liked for a swimsuit extractor in the locker room.

We were staying at a camp site at Vallecito Reservoir without showers, so we visited the rec center in Durango. It has a good pool for laps and for kid playing. The showers are private and quite nice. It is easy to get to the rec center and plenty of parking. And, there are good restaurants nearby, easy walking distance.

This is a great place for kids to have fun. Hard to believe a small town like Durango has such an awesome recreation facility. It is clean and well run. Sure wish our town had something of this caliber for it's citizens. Congratulation Durango!

Reasonable rates, great facility. This is definitely worth a visit to work out or spend the day with the family. They have an indoor track, pools, workout room, climbing wall, ping pong (no admission required to just play a game), and friendly staff. What a treasure for Durango, especially if the weather keeps you in.
