Love the farm to table aspect here. Food was amazing. View was awesome. Wish I'd had time for the tour.

I recently stopped at the harvest grill to grab a quick burger, expecting something awesome. This location and setting are stunning. Sometimes the food is even good. The trouble is, it seems to be very hit or miss. I have had pretty good burgers there but last time, the meat was tasteless, gray in appearance and the only flavor was... More

If you are foodie or just love to eat good food, stop by the store at James Ranch. You'll probably run into one of the James family members since they all make various things sold in the store. Their cheeses and meats are remarkable, and we've had some great baked goods from there. Ask about their history in the Durango... More

Call ahead if you want the tour... tours have to revolve around the animals schedule. Grass raised, organic beef and pork. Fresh made cheeses. Free range eggs. Music on summer Thursday nights. NOW.... a food cart serving their 1/3 # beef patty with their lettuce... their cheese... caramelized onions on a butter toasted bun with rosemary garlic mayo. Nice shady... More

Come as you are and enjoy this amazing spot overlooking the San Juan valley! Everything is grown, picked, made by the ranch folks. So pure. So organic. So delicious. You can enjoy food there hanging out on their lawn (picnic tables available) or buy grass fed, like few others, meats of many types. A must buy are their fresh eggs!

We ordered a gluten free sandwich which was pretty tasteless and overpriced for what we got...there aren't many menu choices, there's little space for dining, which is strictly outdoors, and the usually scheduled tours were unavailable when we were there...I wouldn't make a special trip...

The highest quality farm products, created by a family that sticks to age old farming traditions. Artisan cheese, fresh produce, and meats from the best cared for animals ever. This family defines values.

Everyone who has ever dined in Durango knows the quality of James Ranch beef! Now, they have opened a small "grill" to serve the best burgers (and salads) in the West!

The James Ranch is awesome. They make their own cheese from cows they milk, have an organic vege garden, beef cows, chickens, tons of grazing room. It's not supermarket prices but then again you aren't eating supermarket food. We took home 15 lbs of beef. Love the grassfed beef. Lot better flavor than store bought.

We stopped by the ranch and tasted the several cheeses made at the farm. They were wonderful! We also learned about the family and the natural life they lead on the ranch. Neat stop near Durango!
