Every town should have a river trail. It is one of the most used facilities in Durango. I visit our son and his wife at least once a year and look forward to walking or biking on the river trail. Have done it end to end several times and LOVE it. places to stop and rest and enjoy the beauty... More

This is a paved urban trail that runs along the Animas river in Durango. It offers nice views of the river and surrounding hills/mesas. It is well maintained, and at several places, there are benches where one can sit down for a while and relax/enjoy the view.

We have walked and biked down this trail. I especially enjoyed biking. The views are lovely and peaceful. It's free, clean, and relaxing. It's a must do when we go to Durango. The trail is long with multiple exit points.

Bring your bikes to Durango! It definitely a cycling town. I'm not sure how long the trail is but you can ride as far as you want and the scenery is breathtaking.

I love it when a city invests in civic infrastructure like the Animas River Trail. we rented bikes and road the entire length. Mostly beautiful and fun. Only downside was riding by the wastewater treatment plant (stinky).

This trail follows the Animas River thru Durango. Great for walking or bicycling. Gorgeous scenery and easily accessible from any of the downtown bicycle rental shops. Was a highlight of our trip to Durango this month.

We spent a week in Durango and I walked the trail every day. It was such a great way to start out the day. The trail goes along the water for 9 miles. It is paved through the city and cemented in the newer sections. I was so impressed by the trail!! Clean, wide enough for both bikers and walkers,... More

What a great place to spend the afternoon. It is a well maintained trail with walkers, bike riders, families, couples, everbody was out enjoying the day. I have visited many cities but I have never seen a trail like this one. So well maintained, large enough to accomodate runners, bikers, walkers, etc. While we didn't do the entire trail, the... More
