Having an equestrian in the family, who has her own horse, we were looking for a different trail ride experience. Saw Buck's across from Purgatory resort and looked them up online. Liked the variety of rides they offered and opted for their "special" 2 hour ride. This was a private ride based on out level of riding experience. Had Sean... More

My brother arranged this ride for our family of 5, and we had the best time ever! Our guide was enthusiastic and sweet, and the kids loved her. The San Juan National Forest is amazing, and the views are spectacular. Highly recommend this for an activity, and be sure to request Emmy... she rocks!

For all attractions in Durango, you really need to make reservations because activities fill up fast. My daughter had her heart set on a trail ride, but I didn't make a reservation in advance like I did with our other activities. Thankfully, they squeezed in a one hour trail ride for my daughter and my father on our last day... More

Everyone at Buck's Livery is fabulous, but I would like to single out our guide, Aaron. Aaron is the Superman of trail guides. He could jump off his horse at the speed of light and stomp on a snake or wrestle a bear to the ground if the safety of his trail riders was at stake. Not only that, Aaron... More

Great place to go horseback riding. Enjoyed the beautiful views and all the extra information from the trail guides. They were all friendly and very helpful. Would go again.

My wife and 8-yr old daughter took the 2-hr trip through the mountains and loved it! At first, my daughter was put out a little bit by being offered a donkey (Tootsie!) to ride, but by the end, she loved the little guy and enjoyed herself greatly. My wife said their guide, Emmy (?) was wonderful and it was obvious... More

Decent horses and mules, very safe for even novice riders. Sean, our wrangler, was terrific. I was tempted to go with a "very good" rating due to his friendly, helpful and informative presence, but the price for our group of 4 was $196.00 for a one hour ride. It would have $696.00 for the so called, "half day" ride. I've... More

Thank you Jim, for taking the time to write a review on your ride. So glad you enjoyed our stock and appreciated the quality guide that Shawn is for Buck's Livery. As far as our rates go ... we long for the days when we could charge $8.00 an hour! Unfortunately, a bale of hay is now $12.00 and these... More

My husband I went on the two-hour trip with Aaron and Justin as our guides. We had a lovely time. Aaron was super helpful if we needed anything, volunteered to take pics of us, and he was glad to share information about the local animals and their habitat. We saw beaver damns, deer tracks, and a wild turkey. I would... More

My family went on a private ride with a guide named Sean. The whole experience was great. We are experienced horse riders and they gave us horses to fit our abilities as well as a path that was adventurous enough for my hunter/jumper daughter! Great outfit and beautiful countryside

We went to the wrong address and were an hour late for our ride, but Buck's was very accommodating. The guide, Shawn, was very knowledgeable--about the wildflowers, trees, bear scratches, etc. He was also considerate about my knees (wasn't sure I could do a 2-hour ride). It was a beautiful ride through the aspens and evergreens and flower filled meadows.... More

So glad you and the knees made it Ginny! Shawn enjoyed the ride and we are grateful you took the time to write a review. The 2 hour is a great ride..so much to see. But we have all decided next time you need to do the half day! It's amazing. Thanks again for joining us... come back... :-). Buck's... More
