Summer at Durango Mountain is a nice escape. The alpine slide has been one of my kids favorites since they were small and we rode with them. As teenagers now, we sit and enjoy a drink, the view, and a burger, while they take the ski lift up to the alpine slide and zip line. There's also an obstacle course... More

This is a great resort, formerly known as Purgatory. They are children friendly, and offer summer and winter activities. Summer being: scenic chairlift ride, alpine slide, bull ride, hiking, biking, adventure course, water bubbles, bungee jump, zip line, and a sluice box. Winter being: horse drawn sled, skiing, and tubing. There is a class called snow-burners for littler children learning... More

We stopped by here on our way up Highway 550. What a treat! It was a beautiful summer day and we had lunch on the patio. We shopped in the few stores on the plaza and did the Alpine Slide. What a fun interlude! There were many activities for kids to partake in; it looked like a great place for... More

We rode the ski lift to the top for a look around. Perfect way to spend a few hours. Then took advantage of comfy chairs at the bottom to people watch. Lots of kids doing summer activities. My daughter wanted to ride the toboggan sleds down the mountain but line was slow and long, so we passed. It looked fun,... More

Summertime line a bit too long for alpine slide, but scenic chairlift to the top was nice. Don't forget to take a jacket, even in the summer. Kathleen saw a doe and fawn bedded down from the chair, but they were too camo'd for me to spot as we glided silently by!

We took a road trip to Colorado this July with kids in tow... (5, 10, and 12 years old). We made several stops to alleviate the 'stop touching me' and 'give me the iPad, it's my turn', arguments. Durango mountain resort was a highlight for all of us, we purchased the total mountain ticket for hours of fun on the... More

Durango Mountain Resort had some fun and exciting activities for kids. Our family enjoyed the Alpine slide, miniature golf, and digglers. Despite muddy trails, the digglers (half mountain bike and half skateboard) were a cool way to ride down the mountain and enjoy the scenery. Be prepared to pay high prices and wait in lines on sunny summer days.

We stopped at Durango Mountain Resort to ride the alpine slide. Our daughters were so excited. We waited over an hour in line to get on the chair lift. There was then a line at the top. I would not recommend this unless you have plenty of time to spend standing in line.
