We've been to many ski resorts in Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico. Durango Mountain Resort is a great family place. To "the beach" at the bottom of the mountain, to all the green and blue trails that accommodate the kids, this is a great place to vacation. The employees are all very friendly. We will go back. We are a family of 6 from TX so we are not big time skiers, though we all enjoy skiing/snowboarding. Durango Mountain Resort was everything we wanted. First off there is an awesome adaptive program, and my daughter with Cerebral Palsy thrived under the care of those wonderful instructors. Then the regular kids' ski school was also great--they evaluated my... More

Purgatory (why did they ever change the name?) has always been a family ski resort. It will undoubtedly stay a family ski resort. That is, the slopes have varied levels of difficulty, but mainly focus on the intermediate skill level. Durango gets great snow. Only second to Wolf Creek in Colorado. Far better than the more famous Colorado centers. So... More

Although we did not ski on this trip we did spend sometime at the resort taking pictures and visiting the shops and facility. My fiance had skied here when he was much younger. More

Also known as Purgatory, the hotel is nice with great condos for families with full kitchens, outdoor hot tub and space for the whole family. There is a decent putt putt area for kids, and the pool is nice with views of the mountain. Take advantage of the gorgeous days while enjoying the Alpine Slide. You'll never be bored while... More

We had three wonderful days at Durango Mountain. The kids got a good start on learning to snowboard and we rekindled our love of skiing. Very friendly employees and wide open runs due to the warm temps and time of year. We will be back. More

We enjoyed the way the people we came in contact with were all so friendly and down-to-earth - all except one man who said he was wishing he were at Jackson Hole or Aspen. Based on my experience and perception of him I think he's better-suited for the other 2 resorts. More

I have skiied Purgatory since I was in HS and I just love it. Maybe it reminds me of being a teenager... The runs were great, most of the mountain was open even though they had not gotten snow in awhile. It is really nice to go down to the bottom of the mountain and sit in the lawn chairs... More
