Purgatory (why did they ever change the name?) has always been a family ski resort. It will undoubtedly stay a family ski resort. Also known as Purgatory, the hotel is nice with great condos for families with full kitchens, outdoor hot tub and space for the whole family. We had three wonderful days at Durango Mountain. The kids got a good start on learning to snowboard and we rekindled our love of skiing. Very friendly employees and wide open runs due to the warm temps and time of year. We will be back. More

We enjoyed the way the people we came in contact with were all so friendly and down-to-earth - all except one man who said he was wishing he were at Jackson Hole or Aspen. Based on my experience and perception of him I think he's better-suited for the other 2 resorts. More

I have skiied Purgatory since I was in HS and I just love it. Maybe it reminds me of being a teenager... The runs were great, most of the mountain was open even though they had not gotten snow in awhile. It is really nice to go down to the bottom of the mountain and sit in the lawn chairs... More
