There are plenty of restaurant, shops, and bars. At night most bars have so sort of entertainment, we always had something to do.

My faves are the chocolate factory and there is a hotel with a saloon. You can go inside and walk around and it's filled with history. Prices are sky high and it's a bit of a tourist trap. Very lovely though.

Nice place to shop or hang out, Safe enough to turn the wife loose and go on her buying spree. I really enjoyed the depot.

The very touristy, but great old Western buildings, shopping, dining area of Durango is a must visit. A variety of shops from the usual T shirt/curio to lovely galleries. The historic brick buildings are themselves worth a stroll down both sides of the street. Whether you're looking for a gelato, saloon brew, expensive piece of jewelery or art, you'll have... More

We were in Durango for the Four Corners Rally and found the stroll down the streets of Historic Downtown Durango relaxing and entertaining. There were plenty of places to chose from to eat and to shop at. A must if you are in the area.

Downtown Durango is a lively and fun place to stroll through. Many shops, bars, and dining establishments to take in. I found everyone very warm and glad to see a visitor.

Had a great time, world's fastest draw contest, Durango & Silverton Railroad Museum, lots of people wearing old west costumes and capped by a fabulous street dance and fireworks!

Make time to visit the downtown. You can see alot of downtown just by walking around in three or four hours. You will not regret.

We returned to Durango after 25 year previous visit. So impressed with the preservation that has taken place, great beer, interesting shops and as before great outdoor activities. Yes, there are some very touristy spots but Durango is just fun! If staying more than a couple of days leasing from private owners is the way to go. Some really great... More

We took two days to walk the entire length of the town, stopping at many jewelry t-shirt and art shops along the way. We all found things to treasure and all the sales people were patient and helpful. Some real bargains too!
