They don't show first run movies often. But they do show a lot of foreigh films and limited release movies. The setting is very comforable and had an Egyptian/retro decor. They sell food and beer, but do not attract the wrong types of crowds. Besides, the location lets you explore the Broadway part of town. It has a lot of... More

A beautiful, historic theatre. I wish I lived closer to it so I could see more shows there. More

This beautifully restored movie theater, saved from near-demolition in the 1980's, is a treat for any film buff. All the Mayan decorative detail is fabulous. See a movie there and be transported! More

We viewed The Separation at the Mayan last month and we surprised at the run-down condition of the theater. It is indeed in dire need of a facelift. The place was clean enough but the seating has to be the original furniture from the sixties. Awesome film, 50+ year-old springs. More

What a great spot. Super space with lots to look at re the design. We sat upstairs to wait for our film (go see, "Bully"!) and really enjoyed the vibe. Prior to the film, one of the managers delivered a little sort of presentation...welcoming folks and thanking us for choosing the theater and inviting any questions, comments, etc. Nice. Popcorn... This is a convenient centrally located art house theater. Originally a movie palace it has been chopped up into one decent sized room and a couple quirkier small rooms. It's offerings are a great service to a movie-going community that wants to see substantive, challenging fare with a simpatico community and not at home via Netflix. Staff are generally friendly... Seats are very cramped, come here in the summer and prepare to sweat as well. Go to the Landmark in Greenwood Village instead... More

I don't go to the movies in theaters very often; but if I do-- this is one of my favorite theaters. Not only it is it beautiful, but it's cozier than the more commercial venues... and they serve wine! I love that! More
