Here is a great way to see a lot of fun art and be entertained at the same time. The first Friday each month four blocks Santa Fe Drive, just south and west of downtown Denver, is closed to vehicular traffic and becomes an art fest. Dozens of art galleries are open and food trucks abound. It is a very... More

In nice weather (whatever that might mean to you), it's pleasant to browse some of the (very many) galleries in this district. As noted by previous reviewers, First Friday offers one opportunity - when many of the galleries are especially prepared for "serial browsers". It's a fun thing to do on a Friday night. Walk thru some of the small galleries then stop and have a drink and appetizer nearby. Park once and walk everywhere.

"First Fridays" (see: http://www.artdistrictonsantafe.com/events/firstfriday) are packed, but even on a quiet weekend afternoon, the arts district on Santa Fe offers more than enough original art, and nice places for coffee etc, to make for a great afternoon. Lots of original and unusual art, including relatively affordable ceramics, glass, and prints, as well as moderate to more expensive fine arts.
