I guess El Chapultepec is a restaurant, though I really don't remember what the food is like... But the scene and the jazz is a real favorite of ours. The best jazz talent in Denver plays there, and the grungy mexican diner setting somehow enhances the feel of the place for that. And El Chapultepec was cool long before LoDo... more
This place kicked [-]. My only complaint is they didnt play long enough (the set ended at one). Its one of those places that hasnt changed since 1969. A nice brisk walk from 16th, takes about 15 min. The musicians were seasoned. A quartet consisting of trumpet, piano, drums, and bass guitar. No cover, drink prices average. Get your pricey... more
While I'm not much for local Jazz talent, you have to go there just to try their menu items. Hot hot salsa and chips, followed by their famous taco's will have you leaving there fully satiated in your stomach. While the wait staff can be a bit slow as only one person is working, the overall establishment is pretty small,... more
