The Civic Center Park has tons of things to see and explore all within 5-10 minutes of walking. If your in the area @ the Capital or Art Museum, no reason to not take a 15 minutes stroll. It's quite possible, if it's the weekend, that something is taking place here (this weekend is a marathon). This is Colorado though,... More

The design of the park is spot on. The Capitol building on one end and the Denver City & County Building on the other end .A 25,000 square foot grassy area with wonderful flower beds, large shade trees and sitting benches lie between the two stately buildings. Flanked on the sides by a Greek Amphitheatre and the McNichols Civic Center,... More

Traffic in this area during the day is a nightmare but we found curbside parking about a block away from the park. The architecture is fantastic and the gardens are lovely. There has been some reviews covering street people that hang out in this area but we felt safe here during the day and again when we went back that... More

Great park....ever since the 99% protested smells a bit like piss! Been to several special events there, and it's always a good time. Just saw the Pro Challenge bike fest and couldn't complain. Year-Round events great for the family! Great events to bike too, and enjoy some good beers. However, if there's not a special event, stay away. You'll get... More

Walked from 16th st pavillion on a beautiful Thursday ( & Tuedays) for the food truck lunches. Neat way to experience Denver food and see the pretty grounds. Could see the Capital Building. Was crowded but not overly. Guess it helped for the homeless to blend in as others have written about. Did see some laying around by the fountain.

We arrived in Denver, to see something here, so our first direction lets visit the capitol, after we had to cross this park, Surrounded with homeless hippies and drugs smoking wallers. After we arrived at the capitol i was high as f**! It was so disgusting so we git our outside pics from Here and left Denver ad hoc. Is... More

I go to Civic Center park for the events, last night I was there for the free yoga in the park and it was amazing. I have also gone for food events, a water event and fire works every year - I think they hold amazing and safe events there and it's a great place to be. The Civic Center... More

Lots of activities and permitted events. Judge them by what they offer. Otherwise a place to hang, or pass through on your way to government business. I accidentally clicked a higher rating and had to write this review to correct it.

I was born and raised in Denver, now live in S. Fla., and was in Denver this summer visiting with my kids. We went to the History Colorado then walked through Civic Center Park on the way to the Light Rail. This was a weekday afternoon, and I could not believe my eyes: transvestites, drug dealers, passed out homeless people.... More

Walked around the park. Beautiful flowers, lovely buildings and art installations. Saw a commercial being shot in front of the city & county building. Fun
