I'm embarrassed to say that before my visit to the museum, I didn't know who Clyfford Still was, let alone what his work was like. I think I walked around for about an hour with my mouth hanging open -- but I love abstract expressionism, so that's to be expected. The setting is a perfect backdrop for the work. I... More

The other day,I visited this very comprehensive collection of Clyfford Still's paintings from his teenage years in Alberta to his final days.I especially savored his Abstract American paintings which began in the years he lived in Richmond,Virginia..This art museum has a plethora of information about Still the painter as well as his life experiences. The labelling of his paintings is very... I had never heard of this artist, yet, this museum does a wonderful job of educating visitors about what he stood for. He was creating in the vanguard of the art movement, but wanted nothing to do with fame or attention--he simply wanted to create and teach. Very cool well-laid out space with a really interesting interactive timeline that enables... More

The first museum I think I have ever visited devoted solely to a single artist. The progression of his work over a lifetime is fascinating as is the story behind it all. A must see in my opinion and I have never been a huge fan of abstract art.

I like much this museum than Kirkland Museum which my favor too, for it is modern arts gallery representative. It is unique, you hard to find similar in Central and Western America. The museum will make you surprise on some creative pieces since I am of calm and no-surprise person. Awesome. Modern arts students must visit !!!

Nice space. Lovely art. Museum's creation itself is a story. Right across from other museums, symphony hall and Brown Palace Hotel. Street parking meters.

I learned so much about Clyfford Still and the artists he painted with - Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Willem de Kooning and Barnett Newman. The Abstract Expressionist movement is not one I normally related to - until I watched the videos and explored the exhibits. I love the concrete museum. The story of how it got to Denver is fascinating.... More

The life and work of iconoclastic Clyfford Still all here in Denver thanks to the generosity of Still's family and far-seeing civic leadership of former Mayor John Hickenlooper, who managed to lure this magnificent collection to Denver some years ago. A must-see for art lovers and especially those interested in modern art history.

Friends in Denver recommended we see this museum on a recent visit. It was incredible!! Architecturally amazing and delightful by itself, the museum building is a revelation. The exhibits inside are devoted entirely to this artist. The museum does a wonderful job of displaying Still's artwork, on a rotating basis, beginning with the start of his career and taking visitors... More

I had never heard of Clyfford Still until coming to Denver and visiting the Art Museum that is right next to it. I snuck away from our group and had a quick, lovely tour of this wonderful hidden gem.
