I dropped into the MCA Denver because I had only an hour and couldn't devote myself fully to the Denver Art Museum. It was the perfect choice. I rode up on the 16th Street Free Shuttle from the Hyatt and within minutes I was immersed in an all-encompassing four-floor Marilyn Minter exhibit. The cool thing about the MCA Denver is... More

I had great fun at the MCA. Not every piece/exhibit called out to me or was something I could relate to but as I wandered through the gallery I found it engaging and had a great time working my way up to the rooftop. The bubble garden was a pleasant surprise and the rooftop garden and cafe were great places... More

Beautiful space in a happening part of Denver to explore contemporary art. MCA Denver brings fascinating exhibits to the City, including a recent original multimedia exhibit of the works of Mark Mothersbaugh. It does not have a permanent collection, so there is a constantly rotating set of curated artist installations to bring you back again and again. A café on... More

The MCA is a whimsical and interesting stop in Denver. Watching it grow to a social and cultural hub over the last decade has been fascinating. The museum rotates exhibitions, rarely displaying much permanent collection. The bright and energy-efficient building is worth the visit alone, with a rooftop cafe that looks over downtown Denver. The rooftop is a popular social... More

Stumbled upon the Museum of Contemporary Art after the 16th street mall. The museum was perfect for a hour's viewing. The exhibits were fun and interested 2 disinterested teens. The view from the roof was great. The dominoes falling video entertained us. Thought provoking art; funny gift show items.

I lived in Denver for a while before I made it here. As far as modern art museums go, there are bigger, more well known spots. But, this museum is the perfect size, there are galleries in the basement, main floor, and upper floors. You can cruise through quickly or in an hour or two. But, you can definitely see... More

The Mark Mothersbaugh Myopia exhibition was extremely well-done, and was fun for adults and kids alike. This museum has great atmosphere, punctuated by a cute, rooftop cafe with excellent, hand crafted cocktails. The staff was really friendly too. No one was uptight about us bringing a toddler. It was obvious from their children's area and quality survey that they are... More

Mark Mothersbaugh's work was eerie, inspiring and thought provoking. We arrived right on time for Friday's teen night activities. The hospitality was warm and welcoming as we were all able to get our hands on all type of dj equipment and electronics as the rest of the group lounged and sipped hot coco in the Bubble Garden. My group of... More

We stretch our minds occasionally and this was one of those times. The exhibit was Mark Mothersbaugh who had a major influence on Devo. So there were all sorts of films of Devo and the shootings of the students at Kent State "four dead in Ohio..." This had a major influence on the group who decided we weren't evolving but... More

This trip through Denver we caught the "Mark Mothersbaugh: Myopia" exhibit (ov thee band "DEVO" & so much more). Can't believe it was only $8 (Adult) apiece to see & experience so much. Hard to describe, covered decades of his works, music, video, musical "instruments", paintings, writings, sketches, notebooks, drawings, records, thousands of drawn/collage "mail art", rugs, prints, creations, etc......
