For more than 120 years, Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park is a must-see destination for all locals, visitors and families, creating memories worth repeating. Operating on 63 acres, it is America’s only downtown area theme and water park. The park is open May through October and offers 50 rides, live entertainment, shopping and dining. The park is also known to have breathtaking views of Denver from their Observation Tower which is 20 stories high or while plummeting 200 feet on the Tower of Doom!

Elitch Gardens has been in Denver for a very long time. It has been at the current downtown location for about 20 years. As a big fan of Disney World and Disneyland I really did not have high expectations for the park on a visit with my son's middle school symphonic band. The park has a reasonable number of rides... For the last day of summer break last August, I bought tickets through Living Social to surprise our young son. Then I read the reviews – and I started seriously doubting my decision to buy the tickets. There were repeated complaints about the staff, the crowds, the cleanliness, etc. UGH! I was nervous. Once we were there and through the... More

We moved to Denver last year, and coming from VA with multiple theme parks in state and a short drive down/up the East coast, we were spoiled. We live within a ten minute drive of the park and decided to chance an annual pass. I wasn't expecting much, so it met my expectations. Standard spinny, loopy rides, okay roller coasters,... More

This is one of the few spots left in Denver. The kids love it. Fortunately, they have little to compare. If this was Orlando, Brooklyn or any major city ..Elitch Gardens would not exist. Here it has a home and the locals (kids) are happy. Thanks for reading. The Bike Chaplain

We have been taking our kids and grand kids to Elitch Gardens Theme Park for years. They moved from north west Denver, to the Platte River area 20 years ago. The move was a sign of greed, whereby you were able to take a picnic lunch in the old park and now you must buy their overpriced, poor quality food.... More

If you go every year invest in a season pass. Their website sells them and the price you make back after 2 visits! They have plenty of kid friendly rides for the little ones!

1) Definitely not worth it unless you have a season pass and can go often to get your money's worth (even then, it may not be worth it) 2) Rides are poorly maintained, seemingly only enough to (hopefully) meet minimum safety standards, but nothing more 3) Crowd control/flow/management are of no importance to this organization. 4) Clearly an organization that... We visited this attraction under the assumption that there were tons of rides for small children. To our disappointment, there are very few. We also spent over $30 for three people at one of the cafes and received cold, flavorless burgers and fries. The wait for said food was ridiculously long as well. The restaurant was really messy with food... More

City centre amusement parks are rare...you see them a lot in Europe but in the USA you won't see many. Being at the heart of the city does have its pluses and minuses...on the plus side it is easy to reach and you get an amazing city backdrop to the rides...on the down side it means the park can be...
