Essentially what you have here is the perfect bookstore. Not a mega-chain, coffee and snacks available for purchase, big tufted leather chairs, best-sellers and obscure authors both, creaky old wooden floors, knowledgeable staff...You get the feeling you are wandering a neighborhood library. There is a local section and a Sustainability section, and of course a bargain/used section if you are... More

Great old bookstore with a wide selection of books. I enjoyed the staff selections. Great place to rest your feet and browse.

I wanted to bring back a book on Colorado and my son whom I was visiting suggested we go here. What a place! This is what a bookstore used to be and still should be. Plenty of places where you can sit and check out a book. So many catagories to choose from.....I came away with books for everyone in... More

A recent remodel has this beautiful bookstore space significantly reduced, but the quality remains. The LoDo location is in an old warehouse across from the old Rail Station. The café has great coffee (as well as food) and a lovely quiet space to enjoy reading or meeting a friend. The bookstore staff are experienced; there is a great selection of... More

An old timey store with plenty of places to get lost and enjoy a book. Great coffee bar inside with a large choice.

I spent about 4 hours here while my wife attended a book signing. This was the pinnacle of our 4-day vacation in Denver. There are a few great things about the Tattered Cover. The biggest selling point is all the events and guest speakers. My wife went to see Kim Harrison, who drew a pretty big crowd - easily 60... More

A lovely bookstore, a myriad of books both old and new, tucked away on shelves throughout 2 floors, in dimly lit areas, but still findable. Nice cafe too. Found books we were looking for easily.

This book store showcases an amazing coffee shop in the corner of its retail operations. It is a surprising find. Goodies and baked goods are home made from someone's kitchen.

I appreciate that the Tattered Cover is a relatively old independent bookstore in an age of Barnes & Noble and Amazon, and it's in a really nice old building, but I'm not sure what else makes it so special compared to the many other large independents I've been to. While Tattered Cover has a lot of charm, my first visit... More

It has a great children's section. My husband and I wanted to get our girls a gift from our trip to Denver so we got them each a book and had them stamped. The staff is very friendly and helpful!
