Olde worlde book store

It is a hidden and has a wonderful selection. There are plenty places to sit and read, very helpful staff and an opportunity to grab a bite and drink.

I liked the floor to ceiling shelves that allowed for many quiet reading nooks. Great selection and nice atmosphere.

This 3-story bookstore is a great place to get away from the 16th Street Mall craziness. We enjoyed perusing the store and bought some reading material. The best part is the history - Denver used to have over 13 different railroads coming into the city, and there were railroad tracks in front of this establishment, therefore their foot traffic had... The tattered cover has the same problem that many American bookstores have: it's not really sure what it wants to be. Amid the bestsellers and various genre sections they sell notebooks, calendars, coffee, boardgames, t-shirts, etc. Making the actual selection of books pretty darn mediocre. The fiction section has very little diversity and seems to compose primarily works from the... More

A bookstore of multiple floors with well trained and competent staff. This must be heaven for everyone loving books. One could spend a whole day here and just scratch the surface of what can be found here. Worth the visit. Definitively.

They actually have several locations in Denver now. The main one in Cherry Creek is huge. Everyone is really nice and will help you find whatever you need. They have a little cafe connected, as well.

I had heard of the Tattered Cover Bookstore for years and finally found it during our recent stay in downtown Denver. It was worth the wait. The selection of books is incredible and there are areas to sit and take it easy in between browsing the bookshelves! It's in a historic building and flyers are available at the entrance to... More

A Denver local at the conference I was attending told me to go to the Tattered Cover. I wound up there on a wet afternoon which was perfect. It was busy with people browsing, having lunch at the small cafe, or tutoring for college! I enjoyed soup, tea and half a sandwich at the reasonably priced cafe, then had a... More

Came here on recommendation from friend who lived in Denver area years ago. This is one of the best book shops I have ever been on. If you love books and bookstores, this is a must see in Denver. Even met an author who was burning some time there between meetings.

The TC in LoDo is like an extension of our living room. A block from Union Station, on the 16th Street Mall, it is "arguably the finest independent bookstore in America" to quote a famous newspaper. The staff loves books, and has found some of the most obscure works for me. The atmosphere is wonderful, the furnishings invite quiet perusal... More
