Lakeside Amusement Park is a slice of cultural history. In that respect, it's worth reading about. But is it an attraction worth a visit? That's a tougher question. Arguably, its long decay and current relegation to its current status, may not merit a visit. If you're with a group more interested in heritage – it's perhaps a stellar living museum.... More

My daughter is 5 and can ride all of the Kiddleland rides and most the bigger rides (some with an adult) and she loved it. It wasn't too crowded and was mostly families with young children. Lakeside is old and definitely a nostalgia trip. This is not a state-of-the art amusement park but it was a very affordable day for... More

We get there and half the rides were closed, Mostly teenagers running the rides, no one smiled or was friendly, Ferris wheel kept stopping every few minuets to let new passengers on and did not go around completely but kept stopping. Wife and daughter stuck on Ferris wheel for ten minuets. I had to ask the operator to let them... More

Lakeside captures the old school, carnival style amusement park very well. Creaky and jerky rides abound with the smell of grease, smoke and scones. Lots of fun to be had-if you can get over the fact that nothing has changed in 20+ years. It could use a facelift for sure. Paint, ride repairs, cleanliness and an overall update to the... More

We were there this past Friday, the kids loved it. There were no/small lines, the staff was nice and friendly. We took the train ride around the lake and the view was amazing.

Lakeside cannot be compared with Elitches or Six Flags or Worlds of Fun. Lakeside, rather, is a bit like a ghost town of an amusement park where a few signs of its former glory days still remain. Usually you can get into Lakeside for free or a few bucks. It's a delight to walk around and explore the still working... More

Unless it's free entry don't waste your time. They have the rudest people working there. The food, they don't have everything that they say they have to offer. They say they open at 6:00pm but the employees start to warm up the rides at that time so they end up running the ride 1/2 hour later. Sad to see one... More

Old park does not mean look old and dirty. Very disappointed, if I had minus would give. The price is the only positive and agree with another previewer. Well, where do I start? Rides are dirty, staff for the kids section terrible, no-one spoke a word, at times looked (dumb) no offense intended (write like it is)Not sure what the... More

I remember Lakeside from when I was little; a lot has changed! We went on a Tuesday night at 630pm with a Groupon for park entrance & unlimited ride wrist bands. Lakeside doesn't have the technology to scan anything on mobile devices so you have to print the Groupon. Make sure the bar code prints as they also can't type... More

went to Lakeside on a whim with my brother (a local) and his friends. They all work in design/art of some kind and were psyched to show me this mid-century amusement park frozen in time. Lakeside is amazing. It's a blast from the past and it's decrepit but awesome. Don't expect Six Flags or Disney - that's not what this... More
