Almost passed this Center by -- SO glad I did not. This small center has the most informative setup about the history of the mining booms and busts in Cripple Creek and nearby Victor, CO. The timelines are set up in the most interesting and informative way...... timelines showing the price of an ounce of gold laid atop the areas... More

Is a must see on your way into Cripple Creek, or at least during your trip. Be sure to go to all three floors (ground floor, downstairs & upstairs). If interested in the history of the area make sure to watch the video in the downstairs theatere from beginning to end.

Our family visited Cripple Creek in the middle of March and everything, except the many casinos were closed. This center was our only experience of the area...it is great, but if it's all that will be open it isn't really worth the drive. The views are spectacular along the routes to and from Co. Springs, and this center offered a... More

I really enjoyed the dioramas showing the mines etc. I guess I would have starved to death if I had of had to go down in the mine to earn a meager living. The views from the museum were awesome. I liked the detail of the displays and it showed that a lot of care went into putting them together.

This was our first stop when we reached Cripple Creek, CO. There were many exhibits and a video to watch about the local history. The facility has three levels of various information and history. It's definitely a must stop if you plan to visit Cripple Creek, CO.

This really was a wonderful visitors center. Lots of great local information and the front desk workers are very helpful. The views are beautiful and the exhibits are very good. Make sure you look at the miniature mine exhibit if you plan on going down into the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine. It will give you a great perspective of how... More

Easy to get around in this facility and plenty to see, read, and learn about the entire area before going to the mine or other spots.

As we were coming into town on Highway 67, we stopped at the new Heritage Center. Very nice building, great views, and tons of really interesting information about the history of Cripple Creek and the area. The attendant was very nice, and gave us some free old timey post cards. All the displays were very nicely done. There was interactive... More

The Heritage Center has some really neat exhibits about mining history and the wildlife in the area. Plus it's free, and the views are amazing. The staff is helpful and friendly and willing to give suggestions about what to do in the area.

This building is fairly new. They have put so much information on the history of Cripple Creek that you should plan on spending at least 45 minutes to an hour just looking over all the information. It also had a great view from inside the building.
