With a great view of the town and knowledgeable staff, this is a cool place to visit. Lots of hands-on exhibits, a good diorama of a prairie schooner, and a large grizzly bear (stuffed, of course) this museum focuses on the mining history of Cripple Creek. More

Doug was very accomodating, and the heritage center was truly a heritage center for the area. Lots to learn about the area there. Nice things for sale. The hat bands were great! We'll get one for the hat we bought there the next time we visit. More

Each level is a different history of the area. The lower level is all about transportation and includes a working mini-railroad with city model. The main level is all about mining and has a few interactive displays for kids. The upper level is about animals and the history of dinosaurs in the area. More

After reading the rave reviews we included a stop at the Pikes Peak Heritage Center in Cripple Creek.....interesting exhibits, educational displays and a view to die for! The staff greeted us and were eager to explain the exhibits that detail the mining industry in the area. We spent a couple of hours at the Center and enjoyed every minute of... More

Stop in here first before heading into town. Open year-round and free admission makes this place totally worth it. A free, informative 28 min video abou the history of Cripple Creek made being in the town more interesting and made me able to appreciate it more. Great views out the back of the center and 3 levels of information. Oh,... More
