We watched a 30-minute movie about the history of the Cripple Creek area as soon as we arrived. It was a great introduction to what we would see in the mining exhibits. Really good museum - and free! And the views outside are spectacular!

Very nice facility with interesting exhibits depicting the history of Cripple Creek and the Gold rush. Clean rest rooms and across the street from The Molly Kathleen, a really good gold mine tour.

We enjoyed learning all about the gold mining in the area-past and present. The town has turned into a casino haven...but there are still some gems like this.

Bottom floor was closed for a special event, but the first floor had a history of the region in the gold boom Era and the top floor was about the geography and animals of the area. This was a nice center but since I saw it last, everything was just about a repeat of what I had already seen and... More

We had about an hour wait after purchasing tickets at the Molly Kathleen Gold Mine so decided to go across the road to see what was there. After getting in and seeing the many excellent historical displays we wished we would have had more time. Very well done!!!! They also have a lot of visitor information available about the area.... Very nice information center at the North entrance to Cripple Creek. Do make it a point to stop and look at their little museum of the area as well as the great overlook of Cripple Creek. There is a lot of history info upon their displays here and they have great bathrooms too.

The Center is located just before you get into town. It is much more than a welcome center you find on the highway. I have been going to the area fir a number of years and this is the first time I stopped in. Ever wonder how Cripple creek got it's name? I am not going to spoil it. Stop... More

This free attraction doubles as a visitor's center and historical museum. We heard the desk people taking reservations for some event and there was a collection of fliers for area attractions. Bottom level: There was a small theater with an interesting repeating video about the history of the area, extensive model train display, buggies, etc. Main level: Lots of interesting... More

You will learn all about the history of the towns of Cripple Creek and Victor at the Heritage Center. There are nice displays that inform visitors about all aspects of life in a mining town. There is an excellent model of the Molly Kathleen Gold Mine.
