Must stop for mining history and the nicest people to assist you. Complimentary coffee and free advice. Especially loved the train on the lower level.

A very nice center with explanations on history of the area as well as a great view to identify mountains. Sorry the bottom floor was in use so we couldn't visit there. The hosts were friendly and helpful.

The Cripple Creek Heritage Center should be your first stop if you have never been to Cripple Creek or the area. The Center has excellent displays & dioramas telling the story of Cripple Creek and it's gold mining history. It is excellent attraction for adults as well as children. In the fall/late September the view from the Heritage Center of... More

Have been to Cripple Creek many times but this was the first time we took the time to visit the Cripple Creek Heritage and Information Center. It was very informative and modern facility. And free with great views! You need to take the time to stop and visit.

Have been there 4 or more times with out of state family and friends. So much info on earlier times of the mining industry. Hard to believe the earlier population was 50 thousand with tons of activities. A must stop for history buffs.

We stopped here after the Molly Kathleen gold mine tour as it was right down the road. We enjoyed it immensely. Lots (3 floors) of great info on gold mining, and the town's beginnings. The ladies at the desk were very helpful and informative. There was also a wonderful view of the town down below in the valley

The Center is very nicely done and the hosts are gracious but this was the only thing open when we visited October 13. "It is winter so everything is closed except for the casinos." A disappointment since the weather was warm and sunny. Quite a distance to drive from Colorado Springs only to find that nothing was open. A number... More

This is really an information center for Cripple Creek and lies just outside of the town itself. The facility has to be one of the nicest information centers I have ever seen. It is two stories and really provides a great insight to the community back in the day as well as the present. Lots of interactive exhibits good for... More
