For a small admission price you get access to a few small buildings loaded with information and interesting stuff from the past. The staff is super nice and helpful and seem very knowledgable about the museum and its contents. It is a great look into a little part of the history of Cripple Creek.

Your ticket here, which is very inexpensive, gets you into several museum buildings. In addition to this building which is the old train depot, you also see a home furnished in the Victorian style, the Assay office, two cabins, and also mining equipment. Oh and you can pan for gold. The exhibits include railroad, mining, and Victorian life. Interesting. But... More

The man working when we visited was very knowledgeable and interesting--he was probably my favorite part. We were kind of mad that the museum is advertised as 5 buildings but they have padlocked the miner's cabin and the family cabin (which I really wanted to see) and wouldn't allow anyone in to see them.

We've spent some time in Cripple Creek this summer and one of the highlights was the District Museum at the head of town. The museum itself, is great. Lots of great local history and exhibits. All of Cripple Creek seems a bit busier and more welcoming now that the fires and floods have taken away alot of worries. The employees... More

The price is reasonable for admission--you get to see lots of things and get a sticker so you can come back any time during the day. (We, unfortunately, didn't get to see everything as we had to leave as the altitude started getting to one of our group members). The introductory speech was very interesting. There was tons of stuff... More

Your $5 entrance fee gives you access to as much stuff as you have time to see and read. Lots of interesting household and mining information along with the items to see up close. They allow you to come and go all day with one ticket so you can see it at your leisure. It is well worth your time... More

My family loves museums and as recent transplants to Colorado we are enjoying learning about our new home. We were in Cripple Creek for the Donkey Derby Days and decided on a whim to visit the museum. I am so glad we did. The main building was beautiful and filled with neat artifacts and stories of the town's past and... More

We came here on July 4th with our daughter and grandchildren and we LOVED this museum. Everyone was dressed as if it were in the late 1800's and the kids got to enjoy panning for gold. The area is simply beautiful. One only thing is to keep in mind that there are a lot of casino's in the area and... More

Well worth the senior price. Docent was informative & helpful. Don't miss the video -- it's interesting and full of the history of this Wild West gold mining town. Lots to see both inside and out.

This is a great museum with mutiple buildings packed with so many interesting things. I love antiques and history so I could have spent the majority of the day viewing everything.
