As a life member of the ANA, this is the mothership. And it did not disappoint. We all remember school field trips where there were 200 Egyptian clay pots in a dusty cabinet with tiny labels and no real information about what you were looking at... this is 180 degrees the opposite. Less is more - both the permanent exhibits... More

I have been wanting to check this place out for a while. Finally chose it for my birthday with the family. As a history buff, I am sure I enjoyed it the most. I believe they also have one free Saturday a month.

I am not really into coin collecting so I was not real excited to go here but others in my group were. I was surprised to find that I did enjoy the museum despite my lack of interest in coin collecting. They had several collections recovered from the ocean which I found interesting. The staff was very helpful and willing... More

You don't need to be a numismatist to enjoy this museum. There's much to learn about the history of money--both paper and coins. The museum has two permanent exhibits. The history of money which is downstairs. It has examples of some errors in printing money--back and front of bills that don't match and mismatched serial numbers. There are some examples... More

Plan to stay at least an hour. Some very very very rare coins and interesting exhibits of money. Both coinage and paper money with detailed histories on most. Have you ever seen a $1,000, $5,000, or $100,000 bill? They have them.

The staff members show an obvious passion for money and its history. The kids I travelled with were thoroughly amused and loved every seconds of it. One of the security guards did kinda frustrate me though... I was there with a severe special needs kid who kept putting his hands on the display glass in order to look at what... More

Excellent museum. This museum covers everything about money - history, artifacts, shipwrecks, extensive collection of US coins and money. Much better than the Federal Reserve museum in Denver.

This museum covers monetary systems worldwide for thousands of years. It was amazing how much I learned about something I use everyday. It took about 2 hours, but there was a special "Shipwreck/treasure" exhibit there during my visit. There is also a large coin collection that ranges in dates from the late 1700's to early 1900's. All of the exhibits... More

Spend a little time here and you'll quickly discover how little you really know about every type of currency ever used in the USA over the last 200 years. Contains some outstanding personal coin collections.

A different type of museum. Learning about something we use everyday and take for granted. My father was a coin collector and I sorted change a lot as a kid. You can't find the coins now like you did back in the 60's. So it was interesting to see all about coins.
