I live in the area & have driven past this museum countless times. I didn't think it would be worth going in, but I was wrong. We found this museum very interesting & enjoyable. The tour was very informative- teaching us how to gold pan, visiting the mining drift. There were a number of hands-on exhibits, and our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of mining. In the foyer of the Museum- right when you come in- there is a huge Corliss steam engine.... more
This museum is expensive...$20 for a family of four....with not much to offer. Their website says tours at 10am & 1pm - we made sure to get there for their tour.
