My husband and I booked a rock climbing trip with First Ascent on a recent trip to Colorado Springs. Neither of us had ever been climbing before and were extremely terrified when we arrived at the Garden of the Gods. To say the climbs looked daunting is an understatement, but we had the best time ever! John was our instructor... More

My daughter, Chaeli, and I had a wonderful time climbing at the Garden of the Gods. Sam was an excellent instructor and had a lot of patience with us as first time climbers. He was excellent at encouraging her when a little fear crept in. I would highly recommend Sam if it is your first time climbing.

This was such a fun way for our family to visit Garden of the Gods! Sam was great and very entertaining and patient with our young kids. None of us had any climbing experience so he explained everything and talked us through each step of the climb. Everyone had a great time. Adults had a blast. The kids were so... More

The trip was catered to us, the guide John was informative and helped guide us through the climbs. Would recommend to anyone! Also the one company that requires their guides to be certified!

We had a great day of climbing with Luke at North Cheyenne Canyon. The booking process was easy & despite being rained out of our initially chosen location, we were still given the opportunity to climb at NCC. Luke was very positive & helpful, and the scenery was amazing.

We had Sam and he was a great tour guide. I highly recommend him! There was three of us and all of us had a fear of heights! We had climbed in a gym before, but of course real rock is much different. He talked us through each step and helped us stay calm as we went up. He also... More

My girlfriend and I drove overnight to Colorado, first stopping my Garden of the Gods, then we went straight into snowshoeing with John, and had a blast. We were fortunate enough or I snow the day or so before, but we had the trail all to our selves and it was sublime. We trekked a long the trail, saw a... More

I was looking for a fun way to celebrate my husband's 36th birthday this past weekend. Last Tuesday night, I started emailing/sending out information requests to several rock climbing companies in the Denver area about taking us on a beginner rock climbing course. John, the owner of First Ascent, responded within 30 minutes (at 8:20pm!) of my info request on... More

I've been climbing twice with First Ascent and love how John can plan trips to help progress you as a climber. I had minimal climbing experience prior to these trips where his knowledge and experience helped me meet each challenge he presented me with. I wouldn't hesitate to climb with First Ascent in the future!
