My girlfriend and I drove overnight to Colorado, first stopping my Garden of the Gods, then we went straight into snowshoeing with John, and had a blast. We were fortunate enough or I snow the day or so before, but we had the trail all to our selves and it was sublime. We trekked a long the trail, saw a... More

I was looking for a fun way to celebrate my husband's 36th birthday this past weekend. Last Tuesday night, I started emailing/sending out information requests to several rock climbing companies in the Denver area about taking us on a beginner rock climbing course. John, the owner of First Ascent, responded within 30 minutes (at 8:20pm!) of my info request on... More

I've been climbing twice with First Ascent and love how John can plan trips to help progress you as a climber. I had minimal climbing experience prior to these trips where his knowledge and experience helped me meet each challenge he presented me with. I wouldn't hesitate to climb with First Ascent in the future!

We strongly recommend First Ascent. As beginner climbers, we were impressed by the professional, friendly staff. Luke was friendly and super helpful. We climbed at Red Rock Canyon and the scenery was stunning. My husband absolutely loved this special birthday experience.

These guys know what they are doing. We had a blast even with my fear of heights. If you are visiting or local wanting to climb some of our most beautiful rocks, go with this company. The guides are safe and knowledgeable. They can help you get into rock climbing, give advice on equipment.

Luke and John were fantastic guides - and we were a larger group, ranging in ages from 6 to 69, and for most this was the first climb. They were both so patient and encouraging with the children and adults alike. Their attention to safety was paramount. They made everything so easy - they had everything needed for the climb... More

My wife and I have done about 50 14er ascents but this was our first time on a rope. We learned a lot, particularly how to be safe. Highly recommended!

Our guides, John and Luke, did an amazing job with our group of nine. We had both novice and more experienced climbers from ages nine to 42 in our group. The guides taught the young climbers some basics and then provided excellent guidance and encouragement as they climbed. They also located a climbing area that provided climbs for all levels... More

Our guide was fantastic, made us all feel comfortable and safe. We know a little bit about rock climbing and I knew he was knowledgeable. The kids (9 and 13) said it was the best part of the week. Our location was changed from Garden of the Gods to Cheyenne Canon and I'm so glad it was (other location was... More
