We stopped here on our way back to Denver from Colorado Springs. it was really neat being able to see the campus. There are a few lookout points that you can pull over and take pictures out. There really wasn't much to see in the visitor center, but behind it is a little walking trail to the chapel. The chapel... More

I'm always in awe of the Air Force Academy Chapel. It's so inspiring, so beautiful, so serene. My first visit was in 1971 - I've been back to see it 4 more times. The campus isbeautiful.

Not as open to the public since Sept. 11, 2001. Does offer an interesting visitor center detailing the cadet experience.

It's amazing to see how the whole aviation theme is incorporated into the design of the chapel. Don't forget to check out the smaller chapels on the lower level.

Beautiful chapel and lovely worship places. You have to walk quite a ways from the parking spaces to the chapel and there are many stairs. But you can see a great over look of the grounds. You can also walk to or drive to a small museum/gift store with a pretty good film.

Having heard about the knock-out architecture of the Air Force Academy's chapel, we visited it. Words really can't describe it except to say "stunning". The "Store" at the visitor's center in neat too.

Guided tour of the grounds and Chapel of the USAF Academy, and interesting glimpse into the life of a cadet. Unfortunately, the only building explored in depth is the Chapel, which certainly is an interesting building but I would have liked to see more. There is a good movie at the start of the tour, and the visitors center have... More

unfortunately, some sort of "DEFCON" was in place so we couldn't go everywhere, but the chapel and surrounding areas was definitely worth the trip. We hope to return when we can see more.

The movie on cadet life was fascinating, although (unfortunately) I think it scared my son out of a aspiring to go there :) The chapel is gorgeous. Made me proud to be an American.

While visiting in the area, we were very excited to take a tour of the USAFA. Arriving on a Friday at 2:30 pm, and following posted signs with the assistance of two sentry guards we located the visitors center 4 miles inside the gate. A lovely visitors center complete with a 21 minute video highlighting a year in the life... More
