The campus is very cool and the chapel on campus is well worth the time to really visit. When the cadets are there make sure you wait for a lunch time march or after class march. It is really impressive.

We enjoyed our visit to the USAF Academy. Really liked the 1/2 hour video explaining what the new cadets go through. Otherwise it's basically a self-guided tour. The facilities were impressive and we people at the visitor's center were very helpful. Not sure I'd travel far to see this but it's definitely worth stopping if you're going to be in... More

I went primarily to see the chapel which looks like F-16's lined up on their tails. I learned a lot about our military and the academy which trains our finest. Nice to see how our tax dollars are spent and be welcome to see it all. Interesting exhibits and 15 minute film. Free.

This was no cost. A good little drive north of Colorado Springs. Beautiful chapel. A quick stop. Could be as fast as 45 minutes. Driver's license and check of your trunk required to enter property. Beautiful drive up to the visitor's center.

Being from an Air Force family, I cannot praise the United States Air Force Academy enough. I think it's wonderful the doors are open to the public for tours. We enjoyed everything about our self-guided tour. I strongly recommend watching the brief video highlighting the rigorous training endured by the cadets. The chapel is breathtaking. I asked my husband to... More

I am not a big military history person and I still LOVED the trip to the academy. They have some noteworthy information on the visitor's center but the real jewel is the chapel. I am so glad my husband wanted to go!

I have been to this site before when I was a kid, but I still enjoyed bringing my wife here as an adult. It is worth watching the video in the visitor center to get a feel for what the recruits go through during their stay at this academy. The Chapel is a MUST see as it is one of... More

Must see! Great memorials on display in the courtyard. Be sure to purchase the magazine in the Chapel. Thoroughly explains the details in the chapel.

Thoroughly enjoyed the free tour..very educational. The Cadet Chapel was also impressive and a must see. While visiting we saw the gliders being pulled by winger aircraft and then released. Also saw the new plebe class marching. The athletic complex is first class as well. This is well worth the time to visit while in the Colorado Springs, area.

Great to see, you must go to the Cadet chapel, go inside, and take a photo looking up through the stained glass spires! Watch for Elk, in the fields, or cranes and Eagles around the lake. There was a crane in the top of a tree a the lake, and an Eagle flew over head.
