No motor vehicles are allowed in this area anymore. Great for walking or riding bikes. Trail does end and will have to turn around at the yellow gate. Approx. a mile in.

One of the locals recommended that we should see this trail...and we were glad we did! Canon City did well by making this part of its trail system. Although there is a short climb to begin the trail (handicapped parking is offered in the lot above the incline), the rest of the two mile trail is relatively flat and easy... More

Took the camera and went for and stroll with the wife and our little baby, he had a wonderful time marking the trail as his, and we enjoyed the views, breeze, plants, tunnels! It is a very easy and relaxing location to take a break from the hectic tourist locations. Enjoy the scenery and a comfortable breeze while setting on... More

We always enjoy beautiful scenery. We took the drive and then got out and hiked. It was fun waving to the Royal Gorge Train passengers and the rafters on the river.

Love the tunnels and driving along the Arkansas river. Fairly easy drive that doesn't require 4wd. Elephant rocks were interesting. Don't turn off on the side roads unless you have 4wd

We had not planned on walking through tunnel drive, but after Trent, our guide at Whitewater Adventure Outiftters, recommended it, we decided to give it a try. We really enjoyed it. The views were wonderful. The path, which if basically flat after the first hundred yards or so, goes through 3 tunnels and then winds around the top of the... More

There's not a lot of parking , so you might have to walk further until you actually get to the first 'tunnel'. Nice views down to the Arkansas River. Beautiful markings on the large uncut rocks. Just on the edge of town. Make sure you google the history and how it came to be. Interesting.

This was a great hike for our family of four sons (ages 13,12,8 &7). We brought their bikes thinking t hat we would be able to bike it. However, since one side of the trail is a drop-off down the mountain, we didn't want to chance the younger sons falling on their bikes. It was a beautiful walk and the... More

We walked tunnel drive in the evening after dinner. We have kids ages 9, 6, 2, 11 mo. We had the baby in a back pack carrier. It was a very leisurely walk/hike. Nice views. Not totally secluded, so you could see houses, but close to CCañon City. That was nice since we didn't have much time. The first 2 tunnels... More
