I just loved this short drive. It is a free 15 minutes drive. Narrow and high... but super cool. It is a one way drive (which is good to know now as we kept worrying that someone would be coming from the other direction). It comes out right over the main prison in the city which gives you a great... More

This free attraction features a one-way road along the top of a ridge. It offers spectacular views with a few pull-outs for picture taking. There is one interpretive sign where there are some inverted dinosaur prints (you see them from underneath the layer of rock where they were formed). It only takes about 10 minutes to make the drive, and... More

This is a short drive along the top ridge of a small mountain where the road runs along the top dropping off on both sides. Not steep drops, but ones for good views of Canon City and distant mountains. Something you can do in about 10-15 minutes...longer if you get out to look or walk around. We drove it shortly... More

Skyline Drive... It's more than just a road. It is a very narrow, one way, windy road. The view is awesome but my favorite part is the dinosaur footprints. Make sure to stop in the pull off area and walk back to the prints. It's awesome to see and think that you're touching the same materials that dinosaurs stepped in... More

Skyline Drive is worth the extra 15 minutes in Canon City. It takes you across the top of the mountain peak on a one way very narrow road. The kids were thrilled and the view was impressive.

A very unique road challenging your driving skills. Offers unparalleled views of the surrounding area. I would post photos but we have none. My wife wouldn't let me get out of the car to get it out of the trunk in fear that I'd fall over the cliff!

OK, maybe I should have asked about this road before I entered. We were visiting relatives in the area and they suggested this would make for a fun ride. I figured it would offer a view overlooking the area. And it was. What I didn't figure on was it being a one lane road, that for the most part, was... More

Our day spent travelling along the Skyine Drive is one of the highlights of a very memorable trip. It's a constant "wow" as each spectacular view appears, and there are plenty of places to pull over and take it all in. You can only go at 35 miles an hour, so it's not that scary a drive (at least for... More

Just outside Canon City you see an innocuous looking gate and road: Skyline Drive. The views are spectacular on both sides of the car, because most of the ride is along a knife-edge drive just wide enough for one car. You have to stop to look around, because you can't take your eyes off the road whle driving. If you... More
