A great opportunity to look out over Canon City and the surrounding area. We rode our tandem bike the short distance from town. Though the road up is steep, it is well worth the spectacular views. It is a one way road with cars, but not much traffic and many overlook areas. It is a steep decent as well and... More

Winding narrow road with great views of Canon City. Need to use caution and watch for bikes and pedestrians.

Everyone coming to Canon City should drive Skyline Drive. It provides a wonderful view to the small town. Be prepared to be wowed when you arrive at the top. Not for the faint of heart or flat landers.

This is a kewl way to view Canon City from the heights. The drive is a little scary. I heard this was built by local prisoners,

One way road that takes you along the top of a mountain with views on both sides. Places to stop, park, enjoy the scenery and walk the dog. Be sure you are comfortable driving on narrow high road but one way and definitely not for RV's or trailers.

I love this drive. It climbs to a knife edge ridge atop the hogback that is the eastern edge of the uplift which formed the Rocky Mountains. From the top one can see the Rockies to the west and the plains of eastern Colorado to the east. It only takes about 20 or 30 minutes to complete the drive, provided... More

This was a fantastic quick trip up and down a mountain. You can drive, as we did or hike and bring your four legged friends. The views were breathtaking. There was a place to pull over and take pictures

Amazing history, views and fun. Who knew you can find footprints in the rock. I would highly recommend a visit.

After reading review after review about how terrifying this drive was, I was hesitant. I don't like heights and reviews made it sound like the road was the width of a balance beam. The reviews convinced me that I would have a full blown panic attack. After speaking with my waitress at Good Thyme Cafe, I was convinced. I found... More
