We live in Colorado and we discovered this about 10 years ago, we seem to come back every year. Quiet lake for fishing, Kayaking, Paddle boats. No motors allowed and after living in Denver it is quite peaceful. The lake is surrounded by mountains and that fresh mountain air. There is a campground with all the hookups for those that... More

We stopped on a windy day and tried our hand at flyfishing. Caught a couple of trout (catch and release for us) before stopping at the local hot springs.

MANY people there. Very pretty spot. Lots of families enjoying the fishing opportunities. The drive there was awesome - need a 4x4.

Most of the people at this beautiful lake seemed to be fishing. I saw one person paddling around on a stand-board. Right now it is too cold to swim. We didn't have time to hike all the way around, but got about 1/3 of the way around it. There is sort of trail that you can follow -- in places... More

Easy to get to from Buena Vista and very pretty. The area is very popular with fisherman especially. The 'day use' parking area requires a $6 fee. No trailheads in the area but a road that goes along one side of the lake to drive or walk.

We brought 40 teenaged boys here twice to camp overnight. Free camping, kids can fish, hike, and relax by the stream. Fantastic views of Mt Harvard and Princeton.

We went kayaking on the lake and had the most relaxing time on the water. The views are amazing too!
