Beautiful lake

We were looking for Mountain Goats & Bighorn Sheep and didn't see any, but still a beautiful drive around the lake.

If you are looking for Aspen Gold in the Fall, Cottonwood Pass and Cottonwood Lake are a treasure trove of gold. Almost every year, we come here for the gorgeous scenery and colors. Plus, it is not as packed with people as other areas such as Maroon Bells. The best time to visit is usually the last week of September.... More

What a surprise after dirt road? WOW !!! Beautiful ^_^ lake and mountains. The lake was quiet ( on Sat.), water was calm, very peaceful day and they are some fisherman out on the lake.

We took the dirt road off of Cottonwood Pass road from Buena Vista CO and were so pleasantly surprised at this little beauty. Beautiful setting in the mountains, some local fishermen on a weekday so it was quite peaceful. Fall colors bursting...very beautiful!

We drove to this beauty of a lake on a whim after coming down from Cottonwood pass. The road was gravel and a little bumpy but that just made it all the more fun. The Aspen's were in simply stunning to see. We drove through so many beautiful spots that the hubby made me walk and he drove behind me... More

Beautiful views - watch your feet on the leftover fishing detritus left on the beaches. Water is lovely and calm

Wd loved loved camping at Cottonwood Lake and area already looking forward to going back. It is a secluded spot that is about 13 miles outside of Buena Vista and another 2 mile drive through aspen trees until you get to the lake and surrounding area. We did not RSVP a site in advance as you couldn't, but we found... More
