Since we raise bees and harvest our own honey, I've always had a fascination for mead. While in Boulder, we stopped by the Redstone Meadery. It is a strange location (next to an auto repair shop in an industrial area of Boulder), but then I've found some great meads in some strange locations (like a doublewide trailer here in Texas).... I found this place through TripAdvisor while I was touring the city and got lost in the industrial complex where the meadery is located. Just make sure you use Google Maps, as the tasting room is not located near Pearl Street. Once you arrive, the staff is helpful and let's you taste the various flavors and I witnessed no pressure... Did the tasting and ended up buying a bottle of Nectar of the Hops and the boxed chocolates. Delicious!

My husband and I went here as we enjoy wine and were looking for something different. A bonus is it was all free! When we arrived we were given a small glass and immediately given 3 different wines to taste. He then gave us information on how the wine came about, how it was started and we then took the... More

Have been to Wales many times and sampled their famous mead on all occasions. Redstone has some wonderful versions of this honey-based beverage. Bought 2 bottles! The sampling is free - a plus!

This small mead (honey wine) producer offers free mead tasting (several different varieties) and a tour of his small, but seemingly efficient mead processing, fermenting and bottling facility. It's tiny and not in an area you'd expect it to be, but the owner, who gives the tour and tastings, is obviously pleased to share his knowledge and product with you.... More

The proprietor is generous with the samples and very knowledgable about his craft. The products are great! The place is not much to look at - located between an auto body shop and an auto repair garage, but the hospitality and information more than make up the difference. A "must see" if you are already a fan of mead, and... More

Fun experience to take guests with interesting tastes. Not every honey wine is great, but it is fun to try them all with a group.

Date of visit: Fri 4/13 Unfortunately, we missed the tour, but we thoroughly enjoyed the tasting experience. I never knew there could be so many varied flavors of mead! It was so good, I bought three bottles and had to go buy a 2nd suitcase to get them back to NYC. :) Lesson learned for next time! There was a... More

Very small tasting area. It could do with a sprucing up. Other than that, LOVE the mead! It is infused with all sorts of good stuff. I am glad we have a distributer where I live. Every time I come to Colorado, I always save room in my luggage to bring some home with me.
