This state park charges an $8 per car entry fee, but it's well worth it. My husband and I enjoyed the day watching mountain climbers scale the sheer canyon walls. Hiking was a bit too rough for our abilities and we didn't swim. Most interesting was the exhibit in the ranger station explaining for novices like us how mountain climbers... More

Beautiful park close in. Very friendly park ranger and nicely kept up. We weren't able to hike the trails but looked awesome

Gorgeous , beautiful water , canyon. Great hiking. One trail is level and easy with gorgeous views. Lots of rock climbers. You have to pay to get into the state park, but can hike a trail just outside the park if you don't want to pay. Parking can be tough to find, it can be crowded but worth it. The... More

We visited on a Friday afternoon and virtually had this place to ourselves!! The hard-packed dirt road was a little challenging to navigate but definitely worth it. We enjoyed watching the climbers scaling the rocks, feeling the breeze from the waterfall and taking loads of photos. We took the Rattlesnake Gulch Trail (not for the faint of heart because of... The river that flows through the canyon is beautiful, and the mountains are amazing. The Eldorado Trail we hiked was exhausting, but so worth it! I would definitely suggest anyone visits this landmark while visiting in Colorado. It's a great place to see what Colorado really has to offer. I can't wait to visit again!

It's not far from Boulder and a highlight of our trip. The dirt road that leads to the entrance can be deceiving. It looks like you are in the wrong place, but you're not. Beautiful views of the mountains and mountain climbers are your reward!

I love the fact that you drive down a road which has a collection of eccentric housing, thinking you will arrive at a location lacking any impact. How wrong you will be! The canyon narrows but, delivers you to an amazing view with amazing hiking, bird (raptor) watching and picnic sites. They also have a great nature center. This is... More

Beautiful views that can be seen with a very easy hike. Helpful staff. Good facilities. Enjoyed watching the climbers. The only negative is that to get there you have to navigate through an unappealing little town that has crappy streets and a 10mph speed limit.

I did the El Dorado Canyon Trail. I was difficult more towards the end and took a little longer than I expected, but I was totally worth it. If you walk then entire trail, towards the end you come across a beautiful little creek where you can toss some water on yourself and cool off. I will definitely be going... More

Great place to fill up your 5 gallon bottles as well as swim, walk the trails and climb the canyon walls. The spring water is some of the best in the nation, apparently coming from a 2,000-foot deep spring fed source.
