I wish I had taken a picnic basket to simply do nothing but enjoy the sound of the river. It is a place not to be missed. You enjoy suberb view with a fairly easy walk or you can simply challenge yourself to hike the dorado trail.

El Dorado offers some easy trails and we assume more moderate trails from looking at the maps. The day we went, we decided to stay on the easier trails, which offered nice views of the water but the water levels were high and we were caught in a rain storm/ slight hail storm so we did not get the whole... This was on our list to visit, and unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate well :) However, we did manage to get a bit of a hike in before the downpour came. We neared the summit of Rattlesnake Gulch, but chose to descend when we heard thunder. Even though it was raining slightly, it was a beautiful hike. Very peaceful... More

Home to Eldorado Canyon State Park, it also host a hot springs in town. There's a couple hikes in Eldorado Canyon State Park worth doing but most of the activities revolve around climbing and bbqing. Get there EARLY. VERY POPULAR with the locals.

One day, in the afternoon of October, we went to Eldorado Canyon. An interesting way that passes near the houses built on the water. The flow was weak in all the site was closed, but the atmosphere was very nice. We walked up the path and suddenly we saw a very long train traveling on the hillside opposite. Sunset was... More

Awesome views of the canyon but it was more of a challenging vertical scramble than relaxing hike. A must see for rock climbers.

If you can survive the horrible dirt road with holes and bumps, you will be rewarded with views of a beautiful canyon and creek with spectacular sights around every corner. There is a very nice Visitor's Center (Eldorado Canyon State Park) at the end of the road where many of the trails begin. Parking is very limited at some of... More

Incredible views on hiking trails for all levels. Watching the rock climbers was amazing as I sat on a rock listening to the babbling brook.
